Steam hasn't announced yet what business model they are going with Dota 2 but cosmetics such as hats from Team Fotress 2 is confirmed.

everyone gets 2 invites but i already have people in mind that i know would do more than just try out the game (no offence to you)
i just want to make sure they goto someone who i know for sure devotes a lot of time to these types of games

Yup. I assume the reasoning behind the questions they asked was to ensure that the start of the beta would involve experienced DotA players.

ive won over 940 games in lol and about another 300 or so ranked wins

when you start dota up for the first time it asks how familar you are and one of the options is not at all so

i used to play dota 24/7 on garena client. i got owned a lot but i enjoyed it very much. i want the beta i wanna start fresh like everyone else so i can stand a chance!
