Doubts about Ricky Hattons comeback

Can't be helping his brothers career out much either.. Which I think he's in talks to fight Saul Alvarez, (ginger mexican and no i'm not kidding) I think after Mathew loses to him, that it'll be lights out for the Hattons once and for all, for good.

if he can come back and get back in shape good on him, he's not old (only 33) and could probably beast the light welter weight division if he keeps his weight down and is in shape.

the most annoying thing out of all of this for me is watching ex boxers and promoters all having a pop at hatton for being old and past it, if forman could get a belt at 45, so why not hatton at 33.

Because Foreman is a heavyweight and Ricky is a junior welterweight. Big difference. Speed is and agility is far more crucial to a welter than a heavy, and the age at which the fighter in that weight class can retire changes. Not saying he's past it, he could go on up til 36-38 MAX, but given he's been out of picture for that long, plus all that weight, not to mention the depression, drink and drugs. He will of undoubtably lost a lot of his prior skills.

Even Paulie may end up knocking him out... LOL

only if hatton swings misses and falls flat on his face and then maybe paulie will get the ko :P

like i said if ricky can get in shape again i can see him upsetting a few of the current crop of light welter's out there who will be writing him off as too old and past it.

Interesting time to do this, he's still young while many others at the top are starting to burn out. He could clean up a few more names if he can keep in shape and form, then finish with kahn and call it a day proper.

Or, he could end up a blubbering wreck.

Damn two years since this thread, scary.

I'm not sure why he is doing this, Hatton's style is very risky. I would not like to see him take more shots like he received with Pacquiao. Hatton found his level and he has nothing else to prove.

The first thing I thought when I heard about this comeback is that it would be a real coup if Khan were to beat him and what do you know? both fighters seem overly keen to fight one another.

To me it stinks of "I've run out of cash and want a big payoff for taking a dive" sort of thing rather than being a legitimate comeback, it will do Khan's faultering career the world of good and Hatton gets a big payoff.

yeah because hattons broke, oh no he's not.

as for who he will fight, im guessing he'l have 2-3 fights to shake the rust off with uk/european level guys before he goes after anyone who's held a world belt or belt holder.

and lets be honest if hattons back on form khan would get one hell of a beating, as he cant punch and cant take a punch. would be funny if hatton finaly fights witter and shuts the little idiot up once and for all.

Makes more sense for Hatton to fight Brook, but I reckon he would get schooled. Will be interested to see what he has left though, he will always pose Khan a huge problem because he's always had a good punch on him, he'd only need to land the once.

I think Hatton will fight Khan before he fights Brook. Brook is on his way up, Khan on his way down. Khan is an easier fight to make for both parties I reckon.

Hatton-Malignaggi rematch is clearly on the cards, still don't see Paulie knocking anyone out though, lol.

He seems to be a lot more mature and smarter going by his press conference last week. I think he will train for defense and power and i hope he fights Khan, as i can't stand the fact Khan blames everyone around him but himself for fights he doesn't do well in and Hatton knocking him out would be welcomed by the masses.
