So I just got home from Download, who else went who's just got home?

Tbh it was bloody amazing, my first time there. KoRn, Limp Bizkit and Prodigy were just immense, unfortunately I missed Slipknot though :( Also we stopped in Yellow Camp, if anyone else was there.

Peoples thoughts?

Also pics to come once my mate sends me them from his camera..

I had a blast on the Friday; I only had a day ticket. The day went so well, good weather, cold drinks, minimal q’s, great people, awesome bands and no trouble!
My highlight was watching FNM, who blew me away, much better than I expected and Mike P vocals just seared through me. I keep forgetting how hard they can rock.
Really enjoyed Enter Shikari and VoiVod, it was nice to be sitting chilling all day to such great music in good company in the sun, what more can I say. Roll on 2010 when ill have to go for the full term. There will be a lot of burnt rockers about!! A shocking lack of tv coverage I thought, I only found a hour or so on SCUZZ.!

I agree the coverage seems a bit rubbish, but then again that's always been the way with Download, most of the acts are on YouTube now though.

I enjoyed it. Red camp was a bloody mess though, they really should have opened that site last, as it was all hill/mud/slopes/***p, and the paths weren't even marked so my group and others ended up getting moved :(

Unfortunately for me, several bands I wanted to see clashed with others, but I think special mention has to go to Thunder for me, brilliant show, Limp Bizkit were also a lot of fun, for the memories side as much as anything else, D.L aren't quite my thing but still put on a decent show from what I could see when I got there after PapaRoach/Buckcherry/Trivium.

Food unfortunately still bloody extortionate this year, hopefully someday they'll get that under control, but we took a fair bit to cook so it could have been worse. The trek from the campsites to the arena seemed a little better this year, but was still a bit of a mission compared to the old layouts.

And yes...I'm a little sunburnt :o

Only had a cacky disposable camera as didn't want to take my expensive digicam, but will try and scan any good ones once they've been developed.

Hopefully there'll be more of the large metal bands next year, and as usual more alt/power etc metal, but I think I may need to go to smaller fests/europe to see that.

I had a day ticket but i managed to stay there for 3 days, just by hiding in friends tents then jumping the fence when leaving.

There was so many people doing this also.

Imo it was immense! Finally got to see the band that got me into the rock scene [limp bizkit]. Luckly the bands that did clash for me I'd seen before an it was only by like 5 mins or so, so I missed a couple mins to watch the other.

Fun times maaaaaaan fun times.

Twas my first Download. Great festival but there are some (organisation/logistical) aspects I disliked about it when compared to the likes of Reading Festival. That said, it had an incredibly calm atmosphere which I found refreshing, especially now I'm now startying to get long in the tooth.

Musically it were fab... Particularly Faith No More (I can't believe I've seen them live!), Korn, Limp Bizkit (surprisingly), Dir En Grey, Dream Theatre, Sevendust, The Prodigy and KSE. Pendulum are terrible! What on earth do people see in them...

Argh, sunburn!

I agree to this. They had Manson on the main stage who was utter *****, and because of this had to cram Prodigy into the second stage. There was nowhere near enough space for the Prodigy audience. They should have swapped places tbh

It was amazing! My only real grumble is Prodigy being on the second stage, which had a sound cap. Which kinda ruined that gig for me, as I was wanting to stay near the back and relax to them, but couldn't hear anything when slipknot came one, so went to watch them instead.

A mention for the stewarding and policing as well: The majority of them were fantastic, having a laugh with everyone, and being very friendly and helpful. Not something you come to expect when somewhere like that.

Overall, fantastic! :)

Well I can only hope the next time you decide to do this at any festival, someone catches you, throws you out and gives you a kicking.

how about no.

Do you have any idea how many 100's of people do this, its so easy to just get a day ticket and just not leave once the days over, you have got to be a fool to leave.

Oh right sorry, I forgot about the "loads of people do it so that makes it ok" argument.

Many thousands of people pay the asking price for their tickets, what makes you so special? The organisers charge a fee so they can pay the bands, rent the site and pay the huge amount of people who run the event for honest paying customers, and to cover the costs of scumbags like you cheating the system.

Make sure you wear something that stands out next time you go and I'll give you a kicking myself.

Loved it! Was there from Wednesday, camped in Blue (packed but good), highlights for me were Faith No More, Lacuna Coil, Prodigy, Zztop, Static-X and Dream Theater. Was disappointed the latter were not on for longer but nm. Shame about Manson, I missed him (and Korn) but I did hear that he was utter tripe.

Had a fantastic time, was my first time at a festival. Stayed with some mates in brown camp and thought prodigy and papa roach were immense, tried to see some of slipknot but getting down to main stage was a hell of a trek after prodigy. Marilyn manson was poo, what a diva. Dir en grey were really good aswell, wish I had seen the whole of their act rather than billy talent. The only way I could get out of manson to see the prodigy was by crowd surfing over the front lol.

Please do.
