All of the above are in Velvet Revolver now and aint exactly on the best terms with Axl anyway (last I heard they were sueing him form lost royalties!). Slash aint even spoke to him for about 10 years apparently.

Would still love to go to a GnR gig though!

i think i wet myself when i saw their logo on the site...

AFAIK when Axl kicked the "others" out of the band, he lost all rights to use the GNR logo and text on his own, and if you check the DL site, its the original logo text, which leads me to believe some of the Velvet revolver guys will be with them :D:D:D

man, i think i'll cry with happiness just to see them! just the anticipation and then those chilling opening chords for welcome to the jungle, or the sweet child riff.... i know the hairs will be standing up on my neck!!!

I think from memory he did kick them as you say but retained all rights to GnR stuff except the back catalogue and the royalties associated with it. Thats what the former memeber are go after him for as he made changes to their rights without their consent..or something like that.

I would be extremly surprised if any of the originals turned up as they are now Velvet Revolver, with Scott Weiland from STP. VR played a number of GnR tracks when they played last year.

Ok 4 more to add to the list,

Within Temptation
Lacuna Coil
Hatrebreed
InMe

Not a bad lineup already and what 80 bands to still come including 1 headliner..

Gah, I really want to go to Download now :( But spending money on other stuff. I'll just have to see Tool in London in June.

Best Download yet. 1st year where I like all the headliners

tooll great, metallica even better, g+r eerrr wtf lol... if slash and old people there yes wicked :)

oooo and if stonesour are there what are the chances of slipknot being there toooooo?

Hmm not a bad lineup. Not that I'd have anyone to go with if I wanted to go. Although if Maiden do go then I'd probably go by myself as long as it's not still part of their early days tour (saw an early days show at Reading last year).

Joey Jordison is gonna be in America for that weekend. He is touring with the guys from Ministry, I believe. Chances of Slipknot = none, i'm guessing. However, Metallica owe Slipknot a favour so maybe Lars will drum to replace Joey.

Clown will be there with his band (To My Surprise) and James Root is dating Christina Scabbia of lacuna Coil, so they only need a few more members and the whole gang would be there anyway. I doubt they will play though.

I doubt Lars could play most of Slipknot's material. Not that it's all that hard, but Lars isn't all that great.

I wish Tool would stop lining up all these festivals. They're not a festival band. Tool are all about the atmosphere. You don't get that kind of atmosphere at festivals.

The lineup makes me wish i still lived back in the UK.
Tool (despite what I said above, it's still tool)
Metallica
Arch Enemy

I'd go for just those 3 bands alone.

I'd go to Wacken, too, but it's too far away :(
