Unearth and Chimaira both seem to have pap slots

Oh good I can avoid the main stage Friday, unless I feel like seeing Megadeth.

they're really not, linkin park proved themselves not to be with a lackluster headlining a couple of years ago, mcr do have the big pull at the moment, however it is very relevant that it's not the same crowd as the rest of the festival, they are very much lapdogs of the promoters at the moment and are getting offered gigs they simply should not be offered

i am suprised to see bmth still on the bill tbh, the boycotting of them by venues and promoters is spreading quite rapidly

the organisers do seem to be doing something that's very prevalent in the lineups announced so far this year by attempting to divide the crowd between main/2nd and in this case even 3rd stages for headliners, i can imagine the 2nd stage at least running almost as late as the main stage. graspop look to be doing very similar, but download just wont handle it unless they make drastic changes to the 2nd stage

linkin park are promoting a new studio album over the summer, i do agree that its a bit "out of the blue" but they have proven before that they can sell out tours.
i understand that many of the other bands on the bill have aswell.
I'm not trying to justify their places because i like them, infact i'll be watching motley crue who do deserve to be headlining more than LP or MCR.

the fact that they're promoting a new album doesnt redeem their rubbish track record, i agree completely that the crue should be headlining, however download like to give the impression that they're diversifying the days by having vastly different headliners, whereas what they keep ending up with is rubbish attendance for the headliners, with the exception of the classic headliners, metallica/sabbath

I don't understand why Manson isn't headlining over Linkin Park.

Now, I can see the arguement for making MCR and Linkin Park headliners, but Manson has a much bigger, much more diverse fan base, more albums sold, more material to perform and also will have a new album to promote.

He also has a massive stage show which I think should pretty much put him above a band he clearly eclipses in every way possible. Musically, fan base wise, and as a live act.

In fact, Linkin Park are the only headliner who won't be bringing a massive stage show with them.

if it was anyone other than the Crue on 2nd stage the only mainstage headliner i'd want to see is linkin park - i havent seen them yet and they do sound interesting.

I won't be anywhere near Linkin Park. I won't hid the fact i'm hugely disapointed with the confirmed line up order so far, the friday and saturday headliners are a complete joke for the main statge.

I'm just hoping to get velvet revolver and then a bit of korn in!

Hellyeah are going to be fantastic but the biggest disapointment is Megadeth tbh. I really want the shcedule to allow them to do a double slot lasting 60-90 minutes i'd be happy then! If you've never seen them before make sure you do so
