Downsizing to go 3D

How does 1920x1080 res work on a 27" then, wont that look odd?

I'm pretty sure even a 60" tv looks fine at 1080P from the correct distance.
It all depends on how far away you sit from the monitor.
Some people might find everything a bit larger at a distance of 30-40cm but a slightly greater viewing distance of 60cm would be fine.

Things like AA and resolution are less important when you're running 3D. The effect itself is so pronounced it makes you concentrate on that and not the jagged edges etc, just my opinion anyway.

My 3D monitor is only 24" but i'd imagine 27" 1080P is fine for 3D, fairly hideous up close in 2D.

Switching between the Hazro and the BenQ the most obvious thing is the lack of blurring when turning around, also the lack of screen tear. It's nice to actually see what's on screen clearly rather than having to be fairly motionless, even if the image isn't anywhere near as nice statically.

...I remain unconvinced that the higher Refresh Rate will make that much of a difference to my gaming performance. Happy to be proven wrong, but still....

I felt that way as well, but 120hz has definitely improved my gaming performance. I actually find the Hazro really sluggish and difficult to play on now.

For first person shooters and imo gaming in general having a higher refresh is the way to go, no doubt about it. But if you just want an all rounder that looks nice, then IPS is the better choice. Personally I've decided to keep both, but I wish I could combine them into a single screen.

I went asus 3d vision to dell 30" 1600p because 3d vision was rubbish in almost all games. Just seriously couldn't be bothered to keep adjusting convergence and frustrum levels every single time due to frequent game revisions changing the appearance of 3d. Plus you'll miss all that lovely dell desktop space and the colors that you won't get on those monitors. 24" for me was just too little. If I was to go 3d again I would use 3 monitors minimum or 3d needs to go beyond 1080p therefore completely new generations of tech needs creating before i'll go back to it as 3d 60fps 1600p is not possible over modern connections.
