DPD - Rant

I never thought i'd see a courier being the reason I would stop using a company, least of all one i've been buying my PC parts from exclusively for the past 10 years, but that day has arrived.

DPD, of all the couriers i've ever received orders from, are the only ones who can manage to lose orders of £1000's of pounds, deliver goods smashed beyond use and provide little to no information when trying to find out exactly where the hell your parcel is when it goes walkies.

If i had to pay double the delivery cost just to have anyone else but DPD deliver my Overclockers' orders I would gladly do so, I wish that it was an option but i'm left now having to go elsewhere because of the almost £1500 pounds worth of goods ordered in the last month that have arrived broken or in today's case, been lost with no trace.

I'd love to know if anyone else has suffered at the hands of DPD, maybe Overclockers could possibly then consider a secondary contract for an alternative courier option so customers won't feel forced to avoid purchasing because getting their order becomes a lottery

Apologies for the rant, but like i say, i never thought the incompetency of a courier would drive me away from one of my go-to favourite retailers

I have always found DPD very good, between tracking, Text alerts etc.

That's not to say that at some point all companies don't make total screw ups at times though.

Having worked and dealt with almost every major courier company and seeing the nondelivery rates and such, DPD have been the best scoring and most reliable

The individual delivery driver is down to a bit of luck but as far as company standards go, DPD are up there with the best easily.

I've ordered hundreds if not thousands of goods and DPD are by far the best courier I've used. I've actually paid a few quid more from companies that purposely use DPD. I tend to get the same delivery drivers though, I guess it helps when you know the individuals are good.

DPD have been best courier we've used in the last 10 years. Can't fault our local driver goes out of his way to make sure we get stuff.

Another vote for DPD — they are the only courier I've found to be remotely reliable around here other than Amazon.

I've never actually had a UPS delivery put in my hands by the driver, I always have to go and pick it up from a nearby shop (but at least it's not the "local" depot which is 20 miles away).

DHL seem to take twice as long as they say they will and I cry a little if I find out a delivery is coming from Yodel or Hermes.

Strange this - DPD are my favouite courier by far! Never had problems with them and their driver delivery number tracker is fantastic.

Must be a localised issue?

DPD for me have been the best courier company I've had experience with. Even today had a nice chap from DPD collect a laptop which he packed himself and dropped off a new parcel at the same time and had enough time to say hello, ask how I am and say good bye and I am in central London.

Feel bad for you for the issues you've had but it really comes down to the human beings handling the parcels in your area.

Some more praise for DPD here, they are the best delivery company I have dealt with so far.

Everyone in my street knows Damian, he's a friendly Polish chap!

Wish my experience had been similar to some of the replies posted. The order i rang about today, which was not for items that would have been easily lost, cannot be found in their network anywhere, and was ordered 5 days ago despite paying for 2 day delivery. I can't fault the local delivery guy either he has been on our run for years and its only past 12 months this has started. This is the 6th time in a year i've had goods lost or broken on receipt, what annoys me most is how much i depended on Overclockers for my parts and have done for a decade

I've always found DPD far superior to any other delivery companies. Great tracking, hour time slot, never had a single issue!

DPD are by far the best courier I've had. Steve our driver always has a quick chat and is extremely accommodating including looping back once when a delivery was missed. The app is also very good for tracking deliveries.

No complaints here.
