Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, the next chapter in the multi-million selling RPG franchise, is to be released late in 2013, EA and BioWare have announced.

In development at BioWare Edmonton and BioWare Montreal, Dragon Age 3 is being created on a brand-new game engine underpinned by EA's Frostbite 2 technology.

Well at least its going to be pretty since its using Frostbite 2. I know its not a popular opinion but I'm quite looking forward to this. Although 2 wasn't as good as the first I feel it wasn't as bad as most folk made out. The devs seemed to have listened to the complaints about 2 and hopefully will improve the worst parts. Although, whether you can take what the devs say as the truth is up for debate after the Mass Effect 3 endings malarky. We'll find out when they reveal some gameplay videos I suppose.

Wish it wasn't in Orlais though, all those bad over the top french accents...

Probably going to be on next gen consoles as well looking at the release date.

DA3 will be innocent until proven guilty for me. I remember saying just after playing DA2 that even though it is terrible, the franchise can still be saved and i do believe that!

They got soooo much stick for DA2 that they have to take it all in and improve.........don't they?

I have since played Mass Effect 3, and wish to retract this statement. Bioware are gone I'm afraid.:(

If Bioware can't go back to making something similar to BG like DAO was, I'm not interested in anything from them.

Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale and DAO are the only games from Bioware that I've enjoyed. If I want to play full 3D RPGs, nothing compares to Elder Scrolls, Witcher, Gothic (except for 4), or several MMOs.

Open world gameplay...I like it, but Dragon Age doesn't deserve it, Dragon Age 2 should have followed exactly the way Dragon Age 1 style was and so should 3.

I loved Dragon age origins and awakening, its one of my favourite games, gave it a good number of playthroughs, got all bonus dlc. The works.

Played the dragon age 2 demo and hated it. If i was to put it out there that DA:O was "Realistic" (excluding the dragons, monsters and magic) with normal armour and normal sized weapons that all do semi realistic things. I just hated DA2 because as soon as you start you got a 4ft 2 handed sword to swing about, flying off the ground doing crazy combos.

Even if the combat in DA2 was refined compared to DA:O i didn't notice the difference because it was just insane.

If they make DA3 like DA:O but just slightly improved around the board, it has the chance to be one of my favourite games ever. I just hope they don't make DA3 like DA2 and try to persuade you with other fancy things.

Quick question, if anyone knows. Are they using the same engine for 3 as they are for 2?
