Draining a loop

Also I wanted to have something specific to drain my loop as undoing compression fittings sounds like a right hassle :) - whereas unscrewing a cap sounds, well, much easier...

Maybe I don't understand you haha. If you saying you're attaching this drain line to an IN on the pump top I'd guess it would work, but I thought you were saying you were putting it on an OUT on the pump top.
Doing so would mean there would be pressure where the pump it pumping into your drainline wouldn't it?

As for blowing it off, I was thinking of a simple barb stopper lol, not compressions.

If you're looking for a clean way I would've gone with the suggestion above using 3 koolance QDC fittings. Have a male and female forming the loop, then when you want to drain you pull them apart and insert a second female and drain into a bucket.

Will be interesting to see what you come up with though :D.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I have all the kit apart from the T piece and plug that will hopefully arrive tomorrow, then i can get building :)

One question. While looking through my kit i notice the XSPC D5 dual bay res / pump has no indication of which port is in / out. The on-line manual does not state this either. Anyone able to help?

Thanks

centrifugal pumps always have inlet at centre outlet at outside unless the head or top is modified to take the inlet path another way to the centre ..

but the pump itself will always be fed to the shaft or centre of the impellor and exit at the periphery hence centrifugal pump..

yer the qdc thing is a good way to drain also i have qdcs at the bottom of my loop connecting case to all the external gubbins
