Drake's Fortune demo on PAL PS3s

Finally a game that really shows off the true PS3 potential. Graphics are absolutely outstanding and not a hint of slowdown, very impressive. Everything about it I loved bring on the full game think I am going to put a pre-order down online for this I think.

Don't forget it can be imported for less than UK price and the release is staggered by 2 weeks so you would still get it earlier than UK release.

I only turned the game on for 2 mins to test last night, and am meaning to sit down and have a proper session with this in a bit (if I can tear myself away from Tekken).

Good, I might just do that. What are your thoughts on the game mate?

Only played for 2 secs last night. Very smooth animations (I just ran around the beginning bit for a few mins). Very green and shiny, and the water looked slick.

Gonna play this properly tomorrow now I think, but it would have to suck badly for me to cancel my 1 month old pre-order.

My initial impressions were, give the main character a bullwhip and a hat and I would be in Indiana Jones heaven. But I am crazy!!

just described most fps or action games in existence.... bioshock...move through area kill baddies go next area do same....
Bioshock is as linear, but there's a lot more going on than just the shooting. And since Uncharted isn't an FPS, the comparison isn't a fair one anyway.

The demo reminds me of Stranglehold, you move to an area, kill an almost endless supply of baddies, move on. I just wasn't expecting the shooting elements to be as heavy in Uncharted.

I'd like to have seen more exploration, though it's entirely possible that they've shown as much as was possible in a demo.

I don't want it to come accross that I'm calling it a bad game, because I'm not. I've been following it for a while and will still most likely buy it, I'll just be paying close attention to the reviews to see if the amount of shooting is consistent throughout the game.

Is that it!! talk about leave you gagging for more :)
Looks top notch, took RP's advice and put a pre-order down from across the pond...

hrmm so its like a series of levels? (loading screens in between etc) sorta mission based? I also dont want to see lots of shooting levels.
I was hoping it was kinda free-form like you said wander about exploring and you just adapt to what you need to overcome (e.g. platforms, enemies, puzzles etc)

I tell you this, if its anything like Call of Juarez i will be tearing my eyes out. a series of set-pieces: shooting mission;loading screen; sneak mission;loading screen; shoot mission;loading screen; sneak mission etc.

Not sure how the full game will be, but the demo is basically one area, which there is only ever one way to progress through. No loading screens, although it is quite a short demo.

When you come accross the enemies (of which there are quite a few) you basically have to wipe them all out to progress.

Had a play with this this morning, loved it ! Gotta agree with Inoshishi about the motion controls they work very well when going across the logs, one of the best uses so far and it does kinda make sense. Its a great looking game, love the little things such as the rocks looking "wet" near the water fall, the lighting effects through the trees, the way drakes clothes get wet and cling to him till dry etc. Gunplay seemed good, like the way when i shot one of the blokes in the hip he held his side and waddled away, couldnt seem to pull of head shots when i wanted to, but then again its a pistol not a rifle and drake aint supposed to be a highly trained soldier. The hand to hand thing worked well but took me a few goes to pull of the combos. Glad i got it on preorder from the states, looks a worthy purchase. On a side note one of the blokes from Naughty Dog was on EGM live this week talking about the game, seems like theres no pop ups and also no in level loading, all in all another worthwhile PS3 purchae IMO.

Uncharted & Rachet was one of the reasons I opted for the PS3 over the 360 and after playing the demo's of both recently I am not dissapointed in my choice :)

I got in last night with COD4 under my arm and Eye Of Judgement sitting on the side unopened, and yet spent all evening playing the Uncharted demo.

Roll on the 19th November...

As said by others the graphics are very nice. just a shame I still suck at aiming with the controller so bad that I get killed more often than not.

[edit] What is the best way to kill all the guys after the waterfall bits just after dropping down, take cover and shoot from cover Gears of War style, run in and shoot them from the hip or run up to them and punch them? [/edit]

Guys great to hear this is now working, gonna get it tonight.

Can i ask if its easy to purchase items from USA or Japan.
My main concern is regarding GT5 Prolouge when its released for sale/download in December.

What credit cards work?

US is easier but for Japan youre best bet , although i've never tried it is that some asian import sites sell Japanese PSN cards (like a points card but "real" money). I would have thought they would just email you the number you could then credit your Japanese account by that much. Like I said not tried it myself or know anyone who has though, but it may work.

Played the demo again, is utterly superb. Really nice. I had a mate over and he was jaw dropped!

Can't wait for this!
