My main problem with wearing a time why lugging PC's\servers etc around all the time was I constantly plucked them, they were tatty in no time.
I work in an office playing computer fixer, networky stuff, sysadminnig and hardware installerer. The usual clambering about under desks, lifting printers about, moving desktops etc, a pretty physical job.
I wonder how many of the comments in this thread are from office monkeys, and not IT Professionals.....
Yip. I used to love weightlifting an Epson C4200DN. A piffling 38kg or so and a bloody awkward shape to boot.
There was an even heavier Lexmark A3 jobbie we had a few of. They were a 3 man lift.

I'm a software engineer, so presumably that counts as an IT Professional.

Males must wear a shirt and tie, smart trousers and shoes.
There is a new head starting in September so it may be an opportunity to try and get things changed.
