Dress

Debenhams is an excellent place to start. Lots of nice classy simple dresses with a really wide range of styles (a good range of prices too, they don't start out too expensive). The best thing to do is to try on quite a few different cuts and styles to find what suits your shape. You will often find ones that look nothing special on the hangar but look great on due to their cut. What sort of shape are you? Usually your shape (pear, apple, hourglass, oblong etc) has more bearing on what will suit you best rather than your size.

Looking for a dress suitable for a wedding so something classy/elegant size 12-14 I have an idea myself but would be good to see other people's choices/suggestions.

I'm surprised (given OCUK forums proven track record) that we haven't had any "OMG Fattie posts" as according to the forums every woman over size 8 is a chubby*.

On topic how about Marks and Sparks or Debanhams? Failing that Primark should surfice.

* I don't think this.

Seriously :/ What dooshes thing that. True sieze 8 can have curves but Im 12/14 dress size (14 because my boobs grew. Can still tug a size 12 over them though 8D )
12's have more curves :D

If you aren't sure what shape you are use this Shape Advisor. It worked for me (I already knew what shape I was but wanted to see how accurate it was) and has worked well for other girls I know too :)

Depends if your short or tall. But generally I agree with you.

Hard to say just by saying your a size 12-14. Are you tall? slim? short?

Post a pic! or give more info.

Someone suggested a tight outfit well, maybe that wouldn't suit you.. people will blind guess and assume you have the figure of there dreams.

But as some said above, this isn't the best place to ask.

Im tall 5 ft 8 and curved/thin

Monsoon do some really nice dresses, that look elegant and classic but won't upstage the bride. They are a bit pricey though so to advise more I'd need to know a price range. Also would you be prepared to buy shoes to go with the new dress or do you have a pair of shoes you can build around you already have?

I do have some black heels which is what I would wear ... and price range not really sure, but nothing over say £100

Hmmm so monsoon is probably a bit too expensive. Black shoes go with most things so thats good. Debs have some beautiful cheap dress and black and blue is very now so maybe something like this: http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_66853_1139297_-1

they have more expensive dress just go into your local store or browse online, I love walking round Debs and looking at the gorgeous dresses

I really like that, you have good taste impressed
