I have started to drink a lot of tap water recently, the taste is fine I was just wondering should I drink bottled water instead?

Is bottled water healthier, does tap water have impurities and stuff in it.

Thanks

Tap water is fine if you want it slightly better buy a brita filter.

Don't however fill up a water bottle with tap water and use that as the bottles they use aren't made to keep being filled up.

Tap water is fine, the quality is generally very good here in the UK but taste does vary.

Something to consider though...

1. Bottled water is subject to far less stringent safety tests than tap water

2. Bottled water is more likely to be contaminated or be source of infection

3. Bottled water contains no disinfecting additives such as chlorine which is added to tap water

The burn (stream for those south of the wall) at the bottom of my garden is safe to drink so I am pretty sure tap water is safe to drink.

Its not a good idea to drink out of the bathroom taps if you have a cold water storage tank as the water can be stale.

I used to work for water treatment company and as one person succinctly put it, which do you prefer, chemicals or bugs?
Basic, but effectively sums it up!

4. Plastic is a nasty material than never breaks down and bottled water is on a par with plastic carrier bags in waste plastic...

There is no reason to buy bottled water in the UK if you're near a tap.
