Drinking Tap Water?

Tap water is fine if you want it slightly better buy a brita filter.

Don't however fill up a water bottle with tap water and use that as the bottles they use aren't made to keep being filled up.

Iv used a ltr bottle at the gym for a good 6 months now, the bottle or I haven't broken yet :D

I have a Brita jug which I fill up from the tap and stick it in the fridge. Delicious water in every glass.

Get a decent water bottle and fill it up. Pointless buying bottled.
If you want it slightly filtered to change taste, you can go brita filter or a water bottle with an active carbon filter in it.

Depends on the bottle I think, some contain phtalates (links to cancer) which leaches into the water. I very much doubt a drink you buy of the shelf will contain it mind.

To answer the OPs question though - tap all the way, we pay for it!

I thinkt he tap water here tastes disgustng, even after going through a filter.

Bottled all the way.

All I drink is tap water, BUT we have two pop-top glass bottles in the fridge so the water's always very cold. Much nicer :).

Can't see the point in Britta filters etc unless you replace the filter every week else all you're doing is pouring water through something dirty before you drink it.

Unless you live in an area with poor water or an old house with a degraded water system I don't see any point with buying bottled to use at home.

No point in drinking bottled water. Tap water does taste different in different areas obviously though. Didn't like the taste of it in Birmingham but never to the point I couldn't drink it!

Tap water tastes better to me than bottled water. That combined with the price of bottled water in the UK means I tend to avoid it unless I have no choice.

Bottled water should be illegal for the environmental and societal damage it causes.

Oh and you're not supposed to refill the bottles because various chemicals leech from the plastic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisphenol_A

Did you read that page?

There are seven classes of plastics used in packaging applications. Currently there are no BPA labeling requirements for plastics.

"In general, plastics that are marked with Resin Identification Codes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are very unlikely to contain BPA. Some, but not all, plastics that are marked with the Resin Identification Code 7 may be made with BPA.

All your fizzy drinks/water bottles are made from type 1 plastics (typically PET and PETE) Which do not contain Bisphenol A (BPA). Think were safe.
