Drinking Tap Water?

Our drinks bottles are PET, they're fine for use and reuse.

All this cancer ******** is the same idiots who say margarine is plastic and microwaves give you cancer through radiation. It's total nonsense by idiots who don't know a thing about the science behind it. I used to use PET for a brew kettle for goodness sake, although I now use PP.

I don't get how people don't drink water, I drink litres of water a day and I'm still thirsty at the end of it.

It's OK either will do. The lizard overlords used to get rather worried by people drinking bottled water, thereby avoiding the drugs they added to the mains supply. But we, I mean, they came to an "agreement" with the bottling companies and all is peaceful now.

We used to have a Britta filter jug in the fridge, but since changing our old furred up lead mains pipe to a modern plastic one, the flavour of the water improved massively and we don't bother.

Don't however fill up a water bottle with tap water and use that as the bottles they use aren't made to keep being filled up.

That's myth put out by bottled water manufacturers.

They last months as you don't keep flexing the bottle too much; that will weaken and and eventually cause it to break.

The water company I work for once sold its borehole water to a mineral water company to bottle and make huge profit from foolish people .The only diffrence being we add about 50ppm Chlorine, 20ppm phosperic acid.

My parents will only drink bottled water, I keep telling them they are ****ing money away but they wont have it.

Must spend like a tenner a week on it.

Tap water is fine, the quality is generally very good here in the UK but taste does vary.

Something to consider though...

1. Bottled water is subject to far less stringent safety tests than tap water

2. Bottled water is more likely to be contaminated or be source of infection

3. Bottled water contains no disinfecting additives such as chlorine which is added to tap water

This, I work for a water company, some of the responses so far have made me alarmed. Our tap what is best in the world.

It passes like 99.96% of DWI/ofwat compliance tests. Bottled water idn't anywhere near the same standard, its all marketing gimmicks.

Taste varies throughout the country depending on the source of raw water, but "good" taste depends where you were born and what you are used too, it is very subject and challenging for us to improve.

Some people like cl2 taste and smell others don't. etc.

I hope that's a typo!
