Driven over wet tarmac - who is at fault here?

Am I the only one Looking at the tracks and thinking it appears she half drove on then reversed off then drove back on fully then finally drove off...

Looks like there are to many tracks for once on once off.

Sure there are to many tracks there for once on once off.

It does look like she made a complete balls up of it, either that or when she dropped the dogs back off she still decided to roll up and down the kerb even with the extra signage.

It's the angle of the front tyres and back. Technically cause they dont line up perfectly there could be upto 8 lines on the floor.

Pay up. Very much her fault. Not worth upsetting the customer. I certainly wouldn't send that letter to the customer. It does sound very defensive and is likely to get their back up. Get some quotes yourself, get it sorted and then see if you can make a claim to the council.

I don't know why people are suggesting paying. I would want to save myself money by doing a simple job myself. Times are tough not to waste cash on something not outside of your own ability.
Make her do it and she might learn a lesson.

Just chucking my 20p in, but how was your partner supposed to get the dog out of the house?

Regardless of her driving up to get to the house, even if she had walked, I think she would have still gotten tarmac on the drive. Looking at the gap between the grass bank and the drive way, I think I'd struggle to leap across that and I'm 6ft. Also, how would she get the dog off the drive assuming she had made the gap?

She's running a business it looks much more professional to get someone in to do the job properly than having a go herself figuring out she's still going to leave it looking **** and then having to waste more time calling someone in.

I'd just accept she's made a **** up of epic proportions and pay to get it remedied. It's not gonna be that much work to remove the bitumen from the drive way tbh. Not worth making a mountain out of a molehill, and especially not worth sending that letter.

The tracks in the first and second picture don't match up, unless the second picture was taken while the car was still on the drive.

She running a dog walking business not StarBucks. Jesus, I doubt the profit on it makes liabilities like this easy to handle.

Even more important to keep up a good relationship with her clients then, even a little bad mouthing could finish her off unlike Starbucks.

As a customer I wouldn't care if it were her, or joes cleaning that did it, as long as it was done and no charge to me.

Really your girlfriend should take it on the chin and pay her customer. The council shouldn't have to pay because your girlfriend didn't take the time to investigate why a sign was placed to clearly deter drivers.
