Driving fail, no not my test just generally.

After about 5 hours of motorway driving I got onto a normal quiet road and for some retarded moment i changed lanes... into the opposing lane. it wasnt until i saw a car in the distance that i realised.

wont be doing that again! lol

Dunno if it's my failure but 4 times today I've flashed my lights to let people out on busy junctions but they haven't budged. I slow down, flash.... nothing... slow down more, flash again... nothing... virtually stopped now... still no movement. At this point it's really awkward because the cars behind me are closing fast so I've gotta stick it into 1st and go.

Thought it was my lights but seem to be working fine.

Depending on the speed of the traffic, I wouldn't just pull out at a busy junction either, even if someone was flashing their lights.

Sometimes trying to be helpful just ends up turning you into a hazard yourself.

I never driven the wrong way round a roundabout. I have mounted the kerb on what I thought was a slip road but was in fact an angled junction because I was looking out the window to see if I could get out. Didn't do any damage, fortunately.

'I get around' is the OP so -

I think the OP may have left himself logged in (on this site) whilst his friends were round. OP leaves the room, friends get typing!

I just completely cut up a Mondeo on the A2. I was in lane one coming toward the bottom of Swanscombe cutting, slow traffic across all three lanes (as usual ). So I checked my mirror, quick glance over the right shoulder, indicator on and veered gently over into lane three so I could carry my momentum up the hill. Headlights flashing in the rear view mirror, there was an irate Mondeo driver gesticulating at me about 5 feet from my rear bumper. He must have been sitting in the third lane all along. I completely missed him, didn't know he was there even after checking my blind spot. Either I was in another world, or he had his cloaking mode engaged.

I felt a right pillock.

never drive tired, overly or not.
just taking a 20 minute break can work wonders..
Surely if you're tired enough for a 20 minute break to 'work wonders' you're too tired to drive by your own admission.

OP is exaggerating at the very least IMO. Maybe had a daft brain fart, went through a no entry but the realised it wasn't interesting enough for a thread.

Not really, Driving back from Stoke once I was tired half way through the 3 hours drive and stopped at a layby for 20 to 30 mins and had a power nap. I felt perfectly awake and fine when starting the journey but got bored a bit in...

Felt like I had a whole night's sleep the rest of the journey.

Power naps are exactly that and are pretty good to have as well for instant body clock resets that last a good part of the day.

yes, but this is usually when travelling silly distances in a short space of time
i just meant that as soon as you start to feel tired, pull over. don't try to fight it

although having said that, i drove 500 miles across norway and down into Gothenburg before i nearly ran into the back of a car which i saw but failed to react to.
after that, i decided that >10 hours was enough in 1 go and let my mate drive for a bit.
my brain was fried, but it took over 10 hours of driving before something nearly happened.

wtf do you have to do to drive the wrong way round a roundabout :/

My most recent one was merging on to a motorway, I was following a lorry and there were 2 lorries driving along in lane 1, the front one slowed to let the lorry merge and the second one closed the gap up. I was waiting between the two lorries for the second one to ease off so I could merge. He either didn't see me or was just being a ****. I couldn't have even forced my way in as there was less than a car length between the 2 lorries. I realised I wasn't getting in as the slip road ended so the result was me slowing even more and driving along the hard shoulder for what must have been 100m or so before finally joining behind them all. No harm done I guess but I felt like a proper muppet for misjudging it.
