Where I am there's quite a tall hill, with a corner on it - you can get up it if you maintain a sensible pace and amble up it, maintaining momentum - but if you stop, you're done for. The person in front of you will usually fail to do this, so you'll have to stop, then you're done for as well - all whilst the person behind you is ever creeping closer then realising that you're starting to move backwards![]()

My Car handled like it was on rails this morning. Oh wait, I took the train![]()
, getting up a hill was a little iffy though

Bit irrelevant to the thread but don't use the swirl/twirl filter to obscure numberplates as it's really easy to undo!

Owner's manual? Although on the 850 you can lock all 4 wheels quite easily on snow despite the ABS.Anyone know where I could find out which fuse is for the ABS in this ol' volvo 440 tank? It's annoying; I hate ABS anyway but of course it's extra useless in this weather.
Drift in the car park was made extra funny when I tapped the front brakes and the whole car vibrated![]()
But here, a few inches of snow and the whole world grinds to a halt, the roads get closed, people park up and sleep in their cars because they're "stranded"....big southern pansies!
You rather people that don't want / feel comfortable / am able to drive in snow conditions should do so anyway?

The thing with the UK & snow is that everybody moans that they can't carry on as normal because the roads aren't cleared like they are in other countries, that's wrong, in countries that get a lot of snow on a regular basis the people accept that things are going to get done a lot slower or not at all, that's the big difference.
