Driving lesons, speeding through camera

hopefully! If not there must be some place you can report him, if your speeding he isn't really doing his job very well is he

I can't believe that, I'd be getting rid of my instructor if that happened to me. Obviously isn't taking the job very seriously if he lets you speed regardless of if there is a camera or not.

Especially for the small fortune that driving lessons cost per hour!

Tough break, Camalot.

Strangely enough my driving instructor never took me near a NSL dual carriageway. I only ever went in to 5th gear on one occasion, during several months of lessons! Made a mess of that gear change too. :D

No its the pupils responsibility as they are the driver. Its a requirement that you obey the speed limits etc and learning is not an excuse to speed.

So the instructor does not get the points nor should he. Unless hes actively encouraging/misleading the pupil.

I had a pupil on a 50 dual carrigeway hit the gas instead of the brake in 3rd and got to about 60mph by the time I got the duals going! (he was already at 50mph) This was as a result of me saying do you see the speed camera? So he paniced and planted the foot on the gas by mistake! He was perfectly capable of driving on the road in question and I had been warning him from the start of the lesson to watch his speed.

I did advise him that if the nip arrived I would be happy to Identify him to the police as the offending driver but would also assist in trying to get any such nip voided as it was a genuine mistake whilst learning.

Incidentally I expain to all my pupils when they start lessons that they will be advised of the speed limits and if they speed and get caught its there points and prizes etc not mine!

However as a general rule I spot any potential speeding well before it becomes an issue etc.

In the end there was no nip, I suspect the front of the Mini pointing skywards when he hit the gas then diving when I hit the duals and me pointing to the camera etc probably helped. Along with the 'L' on the roof.
