Here is a link to the HP website which has instructions and videos on how to replace the various components of your laptop. Just click on "optical drive" in the menu on the left to watch the video and get the instructions on how to remove it. Hope this helps.

Excellent link, do you know if they do the same for laserjet printers? I'm always having to fix bits and something like that would be really helpfull

Edit - just actually looked at the site properly and they do have some printers. Very usefull.
