I dropped my 30" Hazro down the stairs.. well it sorta fell down on its own as it was on the landing and a box fell over and pushed it...

Its all smashed up and its just been given back to me under warranty so I'm a bit upset.

I have house insurance with contents cover, would this be something that is covered and claimable?

And how would i go about doing the claim? i have its box and everything.

Please help, i need my monitor to do uni work on, I'm stuck using my Note II :/

Oh And it was on the landing because i was rejigging the office space.

It would cover it thouhg they are likely to scrutinise and want it examined and this is a common reason given by fraudsters

suppose whether it would be worth it would depnd on value and the insurance excess

oh and you would need to have accidental cover included though most do these days

Depends if your contents insurance includes accidental damage. It's often a paid for extra so you might not have it.

Would it matter that this monitor is a warranty replacement? Because the model number is not the same as the one i have on the paper work from OCUK (2 years ago)

Yea ok.. I have £800 to chuck around... I suppose you want to give that to me?

You need to check your insurance details before you can go any further really. If it isn't covered, see my earlier post.

EDIT: I have an old 19" monitor you can borrow if you want to pay postage (unless you're near enough to collect it), just to get your uni work done. You might be able to pick one up for less though.

In this Thread: Someone wanted a brand new 2012 Monitor instead of a replacement 2010 Model...

;)

Be more careful where you position your £800 pound monitor then? ;)

Phone your insurance company and see what they say but as mentioned expect them to be all over the monitor trying to avoid paying out. The warranty work should not be an issue as you should have proof that the monitor has not been exchanged. If not expect them to tell you to jog on and stop trying to pull the wool over their eyes.

So why throw it down the stairs then?
:D

Was it the Aloominum model? If so then I feel for the op, as much as the screen burn on my 24" one is a bother, if anything physically happened to it a tear would have to be shed
