Either your internal wiring is a right mess or you've not connected it to the test socket.

Any chance you can take a photo and upload it?

Wierd it isnt showing any stats.

Your probably synced at 9.5mbps or something like to get 8.38mbps in a speed test.

What router is it?

Are you using a filter?

Are you sure its the master socket, somebody might of tweaked the wiring to make another socket the master and thats an extension?

Does the drop wire come into that socket for sure?

Well its the only socket you can take the face off and there is the test socket in it.

Phoned talktalk tonight. Had to turn router off for 3 minutes then back on. He edited something by the sounds of it and when he finished I said "So it wont disconnect now?" he said "you will not get any disconnections now" (really formal 0.o) lol. Got to ring back tomorrow to see which package my mum is paying for as by the looks of it the connection is capped to 8mbps but she is sure she is paying for a faster speed. The area was limited to 8mbps till December 2011 when the area got upgraded to ADSL2+. He wanted me to use the test socket but I said the router has no stats when I use the test socket so he said "ok, I will do my best to help you"
