Drowning, save me

I can also see usb 3 header ribbon cables. These should be much more flexible and would extend the header allowing you to plug the front connector in.

I can't link ofc, but i found it on google.

Sorry, read this thread a few days ago and totally forgot to suggest 90 degree adapters. Total life savers. +1 for using one or two of those. They come in both directions, so to speak.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

I decided to order a 3.0 ribbon extension cable from overseas, hopefully it doesn't give me speed/connection issues. I did consider the 90 angled adapters but even with 2 of them I would have had to cut a hole in the case below the mobo as the current pass through isn't in line, something I'd rather avoid.

Bit of a bummer as delivery is 1-2 weeks.

I took the opportunity to get some new psu cables from cablemods aswell :).

Hopefully everything goes fine once as those cables come and I can finally get to the hard part - cutting the glass tubes :(

Did you get the multicoloured one? I'm guessing covering it shouldnt be a problem. It might even make braiding it a possibility. I'm thinking of going that route when i start cable management.

Yeh, assuming we're looking at the same mod website, although I'm not sure what it will actually look like as there's another photo that is all red and neither of them are ribbon cables? I'll let you know when i get it. Hoping it's just black.

Current situation. Everything is done except the glass tubing - taken forever but waiting on deliveries hasn't helped. ive done all the cabling (something I'm probably going to regret) which went ok, but as there were soooo many cables it was impossible to get it looking great but I spent a lot of time organising it all and im more or less happy.
I also ended up buying 2x8gb g.skill trident 3200mhz RGB just because - looks good imo.
I'm hoping to do the glass tubing this weekend but no doubt I will run into difficulty.

Does anyone have any tips on cutting glass to the right length first time where 90 degree bends are involved? The only idea I have ATM is using wire, which is an awful idea lol.
I'll take any tips at all for cutting/measuring glass tubing and any general tips for doing the loop. I have the loop planned out, I'm particularly worried about the GPU - CPU but hopefully be ok.

So my cables finally came. I did indeed get the multicoloured one which i was a little bummed about but now it's in and the radiator is covering it, it's impossible to see, I don't even need to bother sleeving it. I have no idea if it works yet, we will see when I boot it up for the first time.

My cablemods cables came aswell and they are in, I messed up and accidentally bought the 2x8 VGA cables instead of 2 separate 8 pin cables - if that makes sense? It's impossible to get the cables near the connections on the gpu looking neat because of the loop out for the second connector. I cba to return, reorder and wait so I will just leave it as is, it looks 'ok'.

Feel kind of stupid but how the hell do i get a peice of tubing between 2 fittings? like i get 1 end in then i dont have enough play to get the other end in? feel like ive tried everything except taking components off.

So I'm having 2 problems. Firstly trying to fit in a cut peice of tubing between 2 fittings (I have almost 0 play once as I get 1 end in 1 fitting, how do I get in the other end?!). Secondly trying to get the tubing into the fitting itself, it's soooo tight. I've tried water, soap etc, the tubing rarely pushes in the fitting as it should. Usually it stops at the o ring and no matter how hard I push it just won't go further. In fact, I managed to get it just onto the o ring (see photo above) but couldn't get it any further, I gave up and it was so tightly jammed in there as I pulled it out it just tore the glass apart. The glass had no cracks and I managed to get a nice clean cut. It wasn't even all the way in the fitting when it broke as I pulled it out. Just incase anyone asks - yes i have the right fittings/tubing sizing and yes I know how far the tubes push into the fittings.

I will love anyone that can help me out with either of these problems :).

On the bright side I have got 1 run done along with the drain port. I only managed to get this run done by unscrewing the radiator to give me more play. I have no idea if the tubing is pushed in far enough to the fitting due to the issues stated above.

Not sure about this drain port setup either, the 90 degree fitting the valve is attached to rotates, so when I come to draining I just take the front glass panel off the case then I can just spin the valve and attach a barb fitting + soft tubing to drain. If anyone has any better ideas for a drain port let me know.

The drain setup looks good in terms of function, I have similar although with a piece of hard tubing after the rotary fitting and before the ball valve. But bear in mind the radiator is lower than the valve so you'll need to tilt the case to drain fully.

I was thinking about having a short peice of tubing instead of the extension fitting and I may still do that but I'll leave it as is and see what fittings I have left over after I've finished the whole loop :).

Are you sanding down the edge of the tubing? A sharp 90 degree corner will catch on the o-ring. Sanding will create a chamfer which will open the o-ring as it’s inserted.

I don’t know the process with glass tubing, but to me it makes sense to sand the edge of the tube and use soapy water to get it on the fittings.

I’m guessing you’d probably need something like silicon carbide paper if you want to get anywhere fast.

Yeh I'm sanding down the end, it's hard to get much of a chamfer though. The 'factory' ends of the tubing come with a small chamfer though and they have the same issues pushing into the fitting :(.

You could try spraying the outside of the glass with ptfe or silicon lubricant.

Either should help ease the passage of the glass as well as repelling water.

What paper / grit are you using? It’s going to take some elbow grease.

Are the fittings and tubing from the same manufacturer?

I use diamond filea followed by like 5 different grits from 400 up to 3000. I've figured out how to get the tubes in the fittings - little bit of coconut oil strangely seems to be doing the trick.

The thing I'm really struggling with is once as I have a peice of tubing cut perfectly and the ends nicely finished when I try to fit the tube. So for example Im trying to go from the bottom rad to the GPU, no matter which end I put in first I can't get the other end in. Glass has 0 flex so any levering I do to get it in the other fitting, I'm stressing the end I already have in and obviously the glass just breaks inside the fitting. I've tried slotting the fittings on the tube first but then I have the same problem getting the fittings into the mounting holes. I'm having a real nightmare with this.

Somebody help me please :(

Well, I'm close to giving up. I've literally trawled Google and YouTube for hours and I can't find any guides on getting a peice of tube between 2 fittings. All the guides out there are for bending and cutting. No way am I the only person that's had this problem?

Missed if you said the glass a fittings are from the main manufacturer?

The glass tubing is mayhems and the fittings are ekwb. Though that shouldn't matter, they are perfectly compatible with each other. My issue is actually physically getting in a length of tube between point A and point B when glass has no flex to bend it in if that makes sense?
