DS Lite on its way Lalalala

just a quick question, rather than start a new thread.

to play multiplayer what are my options ?

If i got 2 ds's do i need 2 copies of the game ?

to play wireless take it, it goes through my wireless router on the net and 'finds' ppl ??

you've got 2 options for multiplayer. Ad-hoc and Nintendo WFC. some games only require a single cart in Ad Hoc mode, but all games require each of you to have a cart in WFC mode.

some games (such as Mario Kart) allow you to connect and join random games with random people all over the world, who are also interested in playing with people such as yourself. Other games issue you with a friend code that you can give to people you know, and you pair your friend codes and play with each other. Mario Kart offers both these options, whereas games like Animal Crossing only offer the latter

i've got a post in this thread which summarises how to get around one of the main problems people face when connecting to the net with their DS, but the main thing to do it just try it - it's not going to hurt if your DS isn't compatible with your router. if it isn't compatible, you can get a Nintendo WFC USB dongle to stick in your PC and achieve wirelessness that way. When faced with a problem in-game, i've found it's best to just google the error message you get (sometimes you'll get a code, which is nice and google-friendly :)) as there's bound to be people who've, at least, mentioned it before. Nintendo WFC's forum normally has quite good information regarding your problems in, but it's not always that in-depth, which is why i recommend google :)

No matter what I do I can't get my DS online :( If I try and search for my router it can't connect because I'm using wpa encryption and if I try and put the settings in myself it says the setting are wrong :( Nintendo dongle it is then

The DS doesn't support wpa encryption, doesn't work with mine either so I switched it to wep - that's the only one it supports according to the manual.

Does the DS come with any charger? what battery does it take?

Comes with a standard mains charger although USB charger cables are available. The battery is a built in li-ion iirc, which is replaceable if needs be.

If I changed the encryption it means installing a hotfix from MS to allow the 4 laptops that are connected to the wireless router to be able to use wep, which is a pain.

Does your router support wireless station access control? If so, you could try turning off encryption and just allowing access to each of the laptops specific MAC addresses.

what is animal crossinga about? saw it inthe shop, you just walk around a game world is it? I am seriously thihnking getting it with a game this afternoon.

My pre-order from Game still isn't here (shipped Weds). Servers me right for choosing Royal Snail for the delivery method.

So much for "The order will be despatched by your chosen delivery method in time to reach you for the morning of release." Yeah right. Thanks for that. If it's not here on Monday i'm going to explode. My copy of New SMB is still in the
cellophane.

Anyway. Sorry about that. I just had to get it off my chest. Knowing my luck recently, it's been lifted.

Enjoy your DS Lites people. Tell me what it's like won't you?

My mate brought his DS Lite into work yesterday, and we compared it to my normal DS.
Im actually quite shocked. Its so much more comfortable to hold, and the difference in screen quality is immense. Its brighter, its sharper and its more colourful.
Im considering trading my DS in, as i belive that if i trade it into Game, i can get a DS Lite for £60. Or so im told.
That brain age game is a good laugh too.

I'm finding the button layout pants to be honest. It hurts my fingers after half hour or so. I do love this bit of kit though. Ordered a couple more games today. Fifa for £11.99 and Bomberman for £11.99.

The one game my wife wanted is still on back order :D

Its gonna be a perfect toy for night fishing sessions :D

dammit, first DS had a dead pixel, took it back before i even left. Second one i tested at ome got a bright blue stuck pixel. Guess its going back for another one !
