Havent had a chance to check this yet, but is there any chance that support for the 1333 FSB C2D cpu's will also allow access to a 1.5x Ram multiplier? If so I expect we shall see a lot of E6300's finally going past 3.2gig, as this seems to be the point where a lot of peoples ram start to hit its limits.

Will take a good look later and see what changes are in this bios, but Im guessing there should now be support for a lower ram multi (do 1333FSB chips still run ram at 533 like the 1066FSB cpus do?, if not then there may not be a 1.5 multi after all:()

LOL - That was the first thing I looked for, but no - they must think you'll just get some PC5300 ram anyway.

Damn, knew it was too much to ask for :(

I must admit thats the only thing letting the DS3 down, what other boards out there are as good as the DS3 but allow a lower ram multi? I wonder if the lack of a lower multi is a hardware limitation or just software... But it seems to me that if its capable of 2x right through to 3.5x (or 4x, cant remember) then it should be capable of doing 1.5x aswell.

Would be interesting to try and find out what changes when using different multipliers, but I imagine it would be far too difficult to try and watch to see if any inputs to the clock generators on the board change when using different settings.

the bios is completely changed for the DS4, theres loads of new options, old options renamed etc. comp rebooted itself loads of times in a row after updating bios. i pulled the power cord after this, then it brought up my settings as i had just re-entered my overclocked settings before i got this reboot problem.

still running 456*8:) there have been some definate changes, you can see you current timings of ram in bios whilst you can see the new settings you are changing. ive entered 4-4-3-4 like i did with old bios, cpu-z now says its 4-4-3-15 or whatever it said before, now it says 4-4-3-5. also now the voltage in cpu-z says 1.44v, im using 1.48125v, last bios it reported it as about 1.41v ISH.

memtesting 490*6 as we speak, would only do 487*6 with f6 bios.

490 passes memtest, rebooting the computer wont let me keep 490 without switching it off after many attempts at rebooting automatically and power going off for 2 secs. did same with 485.

the bios isnt the best for restarting and rebooting the computer imo.

hopefully a f8 will be out soon to solve these problems.

Tried the F7 on my DS4 today.

Pants.

System isn't quite stable at its normal overclock and I just never know if it will actually restart or even boot from cold.

So, I'm back to the F6 bios as that's stable.

Same here. It was a bit too erratic for my liking so it's back to the F6 bios.

Meh, no difference really, I still can't get 3.4 Ghz going but 3.3 remains stable. Pretty sure it's my Ram holding me back but who can complain 533 Mhz default @ 944, I sure can't :D
