If i read correctly you can't get into the BIOS?

This is an issue with some older gbyte boards. Unplug your hdd then try to get into BIOS again.

Update the BIOS when you next get a chance to fix it.

Do a mobo reset with the pins..

Phil, I bought the board second hand, I take it you are talking about the cmos pins, the pins are bare with no jumper is that the correct with the DS3? I am used to working with MSI boards where the pins are capped, I have tried capping them for a minute with the power supply off and then re-booting with no joy, maybe i'm missing something?

Use a jumper on the 2 pins, with the psu turned OFF. Leave the jumper on for 5 seconds, then remove it. When the speaker is connected u should hear one beep.

O.K guys found the problem thanks for all your help, it was the IDE channel that was causing the problem, i had 2 DVD drives wired up to the IDE slot, now I am getting into the Bios no problem, I thought it was probably the graphics card that was causing the problem!! what should I set the bios to, to avoid this problem again when booting, I will be using a sata 2 hard drive as my primary disc?
