"AS THE GAMES outfit Take-Two's executives watch their share price plummet, they have made a bid to finish the infamously much-delayed game Duke Nukem.

According to a SEC filing, they have offered 3D $500,000 to finish the game by December.

Gamespot said that Take-Two needs all the cash it can get after posting a $50.2 million loss last week.

In March the outfit was in negotiations with 3D to renegotiate the 1997 contract to create Duke Nukem. Originally 3D would have got $6 million to complete the game, now it will only get $4, 250 and a fish n chip supper if it ever finishes.

Not much of a motivation, however $500,000 promissory note if everything is finished by December does put a different complexion on things."

I would love to see Duke back but for it to take this long to make a game is just ridiculous, i have lost all interest in the game as there has been no new picture or video's or information on this game since it was on UT engine if i remember rightly.

It should be renamed Duke Nukem: Never-Ever

Although it's a massively delayed game, I don't want them to force a release of a game that will probably be somewhat unfinished, and therefore not to the standart the developers want it to be.

Trouble is the last times they did that, it teased us so much, and we got nothing whatsoever. You never know, they may re-start making the game again after the next trailer they release :p

If I remember correctly, there have been 2 in total, all totally different, and all, at the time anyway, looked amazing.

1998 Trailer: Click me
2001 Trailer: Click me

so many memories :D

Is the first video on Half Life engine then the second on unreal ? i swear i remember reading this somewhere before as they have hop engines a few times.

Indeed, problem is now they look like a game from 2001, they are really going to have to pull something out of the bag to ensure all the development time seems justified!

HEADRAT

Acording to Wiki, it started off on the Quake II engine, then unreal engine 1.0 in 1998, then onto Unreal engine 1.5 in 2000, and is apparently on Unreal Engine 2.0 now, though likely modified somewhat.

We'll have to wait and see I guess still. Would be nice to see the game on Unreal Engine 3.0.

Never going to happen.

Duke Nukem was a classic, I've been waiting for news on this for years but nothing was reported which suggests to me that the game was scrapped years ago

I'd rather they just didn't release it :/ You know it's not going to beat the classic :o
