Dumb Question: Can my printer print white?

There used to b a printer called the "ALPS" that printed white, it was a thermal printer

Edit the MD1000 and MD5000 are "APLS" printers lol

ermmm.... wouldn't it be easier to print the colours onto white paper instead of trying to print white onto coloured paper? ;)

There's different makes of Alps.

Okia also done a DP5000 which was the same as the Alps MD5000 just rebranded and only sold in Europe.

Citizen also done the Printiva range but they dont support the white ribbons (altho you can trick them by swapping the barcode label to make the printer think it is a CMY or K ribbon).

Oki also done a DP7000 but it only got released in some parts of Europe and i think was also Mac only.

Kodak do the Kodak First Check and Roland do the PC-Camm printers which both use the Alps MD technology for printing (just more updated - and more costly the Kodak FC cost about £3000 )
