Dump Valves

Take it to a garage to get the turbo fitted....

Then watch them start rolling around on the floor in fits of laughter.....

Just get a new car m8...lolz

For those doubting about ford ka chassis strength, here's pics of my mates build:

What do any of those pictures have to do with chassis strength? They're just pics of someone bolting on tat to a Ford Ka and painting everything in sight pink. Nothing to do with the highly bendable chassis that is a Ka.

Sleeper no.2
They stand out like a sore thumb - definately not a sleeper of any kind!

And I don't know about anyone else but by just looking at this picture:

... I can tell straight away just by looking at the seemingly 0deg camber on the rear that the moment you enter a corner a bit quick you'll be coming out of it backwards.

How exactly does the second one 'stand out like a sore thumb'?

The first maybe, it has alloys and those stupid lights but the second one just has alloys, same as lots of people fit to their cars.

It just has to have performance well above the norm whilst looking pretty much stock, which that second one does. It's a stock looking Ka, with a set of alloys.

Haha installing blow-off onto a KA!!! That's funny!! :D

I would die to see someone with balls to actually drive this air shooting, chunk of metal!!! To drive a KA is one thing but to turn and turn heads with one is another.

If you want heads to turn and mowh performance install go faster flowers on the side.

or get one of these and save money!!

the insurance company will drop your pants and bend you voer a desk

don't bother.

the rest of us 17 year olds have resigned outself to having no power, why can't you?

1.2 polo all the way, fear my 55 horses!

Bolting on tat?

Bolting on tat is going to halfords and buying ripspeed gearnobs, backboxes and air filters. Changing the engine to an RST lump and powdercoating everything, uprating brakes and suspension isn't quite bolt on tat now is it.

It handled like it was on rails. Coilovers had it sitting nice and low and the wider rear gave it great cornering stability. There was never any problem with chassis flex.

What stands out?

How is it not a sleeper

Compared to what it was like before, maybe... ;) It's not hard to fix the body roll on a hatch but whether it's actually safe to drive at high speed is another thing entirely. Normally these things aren't a problem because most teenagers leave the stock tiny-litre engine in there and will probably never get it going fast enough to find out how crap their suspension setup really is. Lastly, most teens don't have anything to compare it to. So when they fit their new rock hard suspension, suddenly they think it feels and handles like a racing car etc etc...

:D The non-standard alloys. The Porka brakes. And the Recaro bucket seats?

Hell no. While yes you may floor it and leave the guy next to you at the traffic lights thinking "ok so he bolted on tat to the engine as well", it's still not exactly a sleeper is it.

Was it really necessary to quote all four (hotlinked, as it happens) images, in the post directly below the post they were already in?

No, it just annoys me when people quote loads of images, completely pointlessly. More so when all they add is 'lol'

Look on Google images at Ford KA's and about 97.33% of the time there is a woman in the drivers seat. I even saw on the web search loads of threads and articles of how it's a girly car.

So it's like this ... you can remove the engine for a huge powerful one with more horses than a battlefield, install a TC, blow-off, some nitros, all the performace parts possible - at the end of the day it's still a girls car and nothing will ever change that!!!

http://www.vcars.co.uk/news/generic-trend-stories/girly-cars-that-some-men-love-to-drive-409.html

They say that men buy ridiculously fast and expensive sports cars to compensate for the lack of … We believe that the Ka was built for men that know they are lacking absolutely nothing…besides from a masculine ride. This vehicle is actually smaller than the average man and holds as much power as a limping Chinchilla; and we men know that size and power is everything.

Contrary to common belief, not even a Ferrari engine-transplant, a thick spoiler and 19 inch alloys will ‘beef’ this puppy up. We all know it’s been tried.

If the internets says it's a girl car then it's a girl car!! - end of!!

Can a male even insure a KA?

Keep it for a few years, build up some NCB's and get something that resembles "POWAR".

Come May, I'd have had my Clio for 3 years, I'll have 3 years NCB (fingers crossed).

I've been getting quotes for A4's/BMW 320 coupe's/Golf GTI's and getting quotes of £400-£500.

Stick it out and reep the rewards.

Well, after the ka's he now owns an Audi S3, and still states that the original ka he had handled like a go cart even at speed.

In general, I totally agree. However being specific to the ka I posted, he sorted all those problems and it was nicely stable at top end.

How many cars do you see with non standard alloys?! LOADS! lol. You never suspect that they are hiding a beasty engine just because of the alloys.
We'll have to agree to disagree on this, as its definately a sleeper in my book.

I think the concept of a sleeper KA is quite fun but wholey un-practical for a 17 year old and you'd end up paying a garage a small fortune to do that work, if you could even find one who'd agree to it. Oh, slighlty chav too.
