Dungeon Siege 3

Played the demo, for me its too simplistic neither the graphic or story or anything cuaght my attention and held it.uninstalled.

I was looking forward to this game, probably more than any other title due for release this year. Unfortunately after playing the demo I won't be purchasing the game. I enjoyed DS1 and DS2 so was somewhat expecting weird camera controls, and whilst I could learn to get used to these, I find the zoom levels are far too restrictive.
The UI is clunky and confusing and general gameplay feels very much like a console port, in fact this game reminds me more of Fable than it does DS1 or 2.

Really disappointed with this, hurry up Diablo and Grim Dawn!

I haven't even played it because of the demo reviews :|, then again i didn't have high hopes because of the trailers

I've tried the demo for a short time and initial feelings are that I quite like it! There are a few points that are bugging me such as the camera angle and viewpoint boing a bit weird along with the fact that you need to be right on top of an item to interact with it, which can be quite fiddly!

The main issue I'm gonna have though is going to be the multiplayer!! Apparently (according to the PC Gamer review anyway) when playing through the story in co-op, only the host has the option to save progress, gear etc!?!?!?!? According to the review, any mates that join simply take the place of existing NPC's and have no way of building up their own character and saving it for next time!! - This is shocking imo!

The other point is that it keeps your entire party in the viewable area (which isnt that big in the first place!!) which surely restricts you massively!!

I might still give it a go to simply trawl the single player as I'm a big fan of the more simple action RPG's (Titan Quest etc) but as a multiplayer experience, I've a feeling this is gonna be a bust!!!

Oh well..... still waiting for Diablo 3 and Grim Dawn!

Played the demo last night and feel like it's 2002... game seems extremely dated already.

I'm going to give it a try on the gaming rig rather than my M11x but at the moment I feel let down.

Still, each to their own, maybe I'm judging too quickly.

I gave it a quick ten minute blast. I thought it was good enough for my liking. I'm surprised that it actually works decently on my 8600M GT as the specs say you need 9800 minimum and I'm happy that it supports the 360 controller natively with all the right button graphics.

However, I'm going to get it on PS3 and wait for it to be cheap on Steam. :D

Played the demo and thought it wasnt too bad, controls felt better using an xbox pad than keyboard and mouse, but sitting on the fence about this, might wait for it to drop to £20 before getting it.

Damnit, was looking forward to the third and from the reviews and vids, seems pretty bad, about to hop in and try for myself.

These are my thoughts also. Going to wait for a price drop first, before I even think about purchasing this.

Didn't like using it with Keyboard and mouse, but found it not to bad when using the Xbox controller. So many other issues tho, hence the reason I'll wait.

Controls annoyed me and the whole narrow path gameplay was boring, I understand 2 had similar but at least you could explore more than 2 meters to each side.

S'alright but not at full price.

Playing the demo, i dont like the no saving thing cos i keep wanting to stop playing as i dont like playing games for more than 10-30 mins well these one anyhow.

Camera well its ok but i would like a better view ala longer view in front of me but iirc DS1 had similar limits or maybe a slightly better view range due to zooming out more tho i cant recall exactly.

Really not a fan of all these console style leveling up i.e big icons, lots of crap i duno what it is and so confusing with talent, and all sorts of leveling up things to think about and do. I miss the simplistic DS1 just use a weapon and u get good with it and level based on that, thats all i ever want from rpgs but no this game aint like the original. Which is a damn shame which makes me really not want to get it.

The inventory, while easy ish to use could have been a lot better as in DS1 style where you see your character and drag and drop from ur inventory to ur body and see all stats on one screen while doing so. Also this games items have no descriptions what so ever and its just stats with a name, which makes items really dull to care about what u get.

Im playing the women atm as i was a mage in DS1 and loved it, the women is ok but i duno seems overly complicated to have two sets of everything from being human to being the fire women.

Nice thing is the gfx are pretty good. Tho some bits are a bit bland like the close up characters during interactive bits.

I do like the voice overs tho its nice to have it all spoken and not so much all txt to read.

Looking more and more like ill skip ds3 and wait for 4 and hope the original creator of the game can get the IP back and design it properly and have all the good stuff that made DS different from the rest back in the series. Chris Taylor it was. Which apparently was a advisor to this new game but not the designer. It probably wouldnt hurt to have gas powered games back to make em as well cos GPG was the only one to make any of the DS games. Rest was by other ppl.

But then again it seems they might have lost what made them good as they havent had much success of late except sup com.

Edit - Had to use 360 pad cos the mouse and kb didnt work when i clicked to start game and was picking the character. Wasnt bad tho, not like u need kb or mouse for these games.

Had another go earlier just to give the game a fair chance (tried to ignore the UI and control stupidity) but nope, it just feels so....bland and pointless.

Could see this was going to be crap from a mile off as soon as they started releasing actual gameplay rather than half second snippets spliced together.

me and my wife love played the baldurs gate games on the original Xbox, so thought this could be a good way of getting her involved with the pc gaming side, it plays very much like those games, which as said is a bit consolrific but works out well for our usage.

think i will wait for it to drop in price first then pick it up
