Dying Light - PC next gen zombie open world game?

bit off topic, but.. how did you get your DS4 hooked up to your pc? via bluetooth?

a quick search brings this up which looks good?

Haha. Think its called "DS4Tools". Put that in youtube and there's guides on how to make it work. PC recognises it as Xbox controller but its not a big deal, works perfectly. And you'll need the cable, not sure about the Bluetooth thing.

Let us know how you get on with it. Only takes a few minutes.

Have a 280x and fx6300. Lowest it goes is 25 but generally it's 30 plus now (a lot more in some places). Disable everything and see how it runs, still looks great. Guessing they'll optimise it in patches.

Loving it so far! Played literally all day yesterday. Hooked up TV to comp and ps4 controller to PC and had a blast. Yet to play with people yet, could do with a mic.

25-30 frames on an R9 280X? Crikey. I think I'd rather get it on my PS4 at this rate, haha!

Still tempted to give this a go, would be nice to have something to tide me over until GTA V. Is anyone running this on a similar rig to below?

  • i7 920 D0 @ 4.0Ghz
  • 16Gb Corsair Vengeance RAM
  • GTX 760 DirectCUII OC 2Gb
  • Windows 8.1

I assume that will run this ok at 1920x1080?

I use my 360 pad most of the time but when I bought my ps4 I tried my ds4 on several games and they all worked natively ?? Still use my ds4 from time to time depending what game I'm on use ds4 mainly for racing.

The DS4 needs the 360 drivers to work correctly (comes bundled with Win 7 sp1 and higher anyway) but there is no way to fine tune or change any of the settings for the DS4 itself which is where the DS4windows comes in

Should be fine tbh, just turn draw distance down (it doesn't seem to do anything other than kill FPS anyway).

Whatever it is by default, in the middle I guess! I tried it on max and it made no difference to the FPS really, 2-3 tops, so didn't think to try it on min. I'll have a go when I get in from work.

Annoying as I shouldn't have to be disabling everything to play the game, there's clearly something wrong with it!

There isn't a whole lot wrong with the game that some optimizations wont solve.

View distance is a massive killer in this game (Go and look at TB's Port Report for it), I noticed a difference of 20-40 fps in areas with the view distance maxed compared to the lowest so your 2-3 fps doesn't sound right.

I don't get brilliant performance on my 7950 but it's perfectly playable, just trying to hold out until the end of the year for a proper upgrade to a new GPU.
