Dying Light - PC next gen zombie open world game?

Just played for a few hours, seems to be a good game (I tend to hate games that rely on movement because it's always so glitchy, slow and scripted) even though it's rough around the edges.

I'm getting memory errors though causing crashes which means this game won't be getting played till they're fixed. Shame.

Really how much ram do you have? even on my poultry 6 gigs i dont see any crashes though i am seeing 96% usage!

Yes because this game is completely bug free and has no issues....

I'm suffering random crashes too, 10-20 mins of gameplay and it crashes out and there is nothing wrong with the PC at all.

On a side note, found a medieval long sword with 700+ damage, kills the big orange guys in 2 hits :D

For anyone getting memory issues, have you set your page file manually? If so then you might want to switch it back to OS managed, that stopped the memory crashes for me.

The game seems to gobble up RAM, there is mention of a memory leak on the steam forums but it's possible it just grabs as much as it thinks it can and Windows gets a bit upset.

You can find one straight away I believe, Incoming poor explanation

Come out of the tower and head towards the fishing village south east, There should be a shack before you get to the village by a cliff that you can go in that has a guy who has shot himself and the gun is lying on the floor

Thanks, I'll give it a go again when I'm back home. Will go around and do some sight seeing to see what I can find

Unlucky you...

Slightly odd game play tonight. I've sunk 6 hours into this without any issues and then tonight it ran like a dog with many lockups and freeze frames. Memory usage was maxed out which seemed to cause problems even getting to task manager to see what was eating performance. Has there been a update today? Pc was on when I got home so not sure if it patched its self.

Was a patch last night...

Had a mate who pirated the game aswell and then posted on facebook about how bad the game was, crashing bad performance etc etc.. He then went and purchased it on ps4.

Wow it looks so bad on consoles.. Some people make me laugh.

KNOWN ISSUES WE ARE WORKING ON:

Performance issues of systems based on the AMD processor

Unsatisfactory performance on multi-GPU systems

I'm seeing as much as 10gb of memory usage according to my OSD. It drops back to about 6gb if I use a lift etc, effectively resetting the engine I expect. It slowly climbs to over 10gb again though. Once close to 10gb it gets a little jerky when something new happens. Much easier to live with than the juddering caused by AA with crossfire though.

Does anyone else have a smooth game until you get grabbed by a zombie or get anything on the screen that blurs/obscures your vision? My game runs fine but the second I get grabbed or the spitting zombie covers my screen in green goo my FPS just bottoms out to literally 1 or even 0 for a good 5 seconds, even though the audio continues as normal and then runs smooth again. It's really annoying.

One other thing that might help those getting poor performance is that this game seems to hate anything else running in the background. Most of my other games don't mind if I have Chrome, Outlook and a couple of other apps running but Dying Light seems to really struggle. I tend to reboot my PC before firing it up and that seems to help quite a bit.
