Dying Light - PC next gen zombie open world game?

Draw distance still does very little visually from what I can tell. I have it at minimum all the time to save on some FPS.

34 hours or so in and to be honest only really done one mission in Sector 0, just seem to spend my time messing about ! Certainly been value for money though :)

Finished it @ 39hours according to Steam.

Think the ending might be a queue for a sequel to milk it? The story was quite crap but the gameplay I found was spot on. I didn't have any problems past the first day.

If it helps anyone, I updated my drivers (290 at 2560x1600 all on medium with no AA and draw distance at 50%).Made sure to have everything else turned off and also made sure my mic was unplugged, noticed it had an open mic even in private single player games.

gameplay is spot on, but it's not a game for strolling around in a daydream planning an attack like with FC3.....in fact you cant walk around at all without being attacked....you have to think what to do next whilst standing on a rooftop....and then run to that location.

you can kill 2 zombies at once quite easily now, not not 3 or 4 if they catch you, so you cant stroll around the streets not noticing them

if we had zombies in real life this would be the same too, because there's so many of us !!!!!!

Finished, fantastic game. Some 45 hours, doing everything (completion 96%, all I miss is one challenge and some poster).
Shame about QTE, but other than that the ending was fine. I hope there will be some awesome expansion with new skills/weapons and new location.

Is this worth picking up?

Read the reviews and watch some playing vids on Youtube and decide if it looks good to you.
For me it has been an excellent purchase and I'm well impressed with the game overall. It can only get better, hopefully, when the modding tools are released.

I'm not that good at it and often run around, especially at night, screaming like a little girlie. So as soon as night starts to fall I'm tucked up in a safe zone.

I do miss not having a manual but reading some of the playing guides, without spoilers etc, is helping.

I too have just gotten around to giving this a go. However my 280 is really feeling the pressure under this. Might have to shelve it until I can get a 970 or 290x

I have 280X and the game became well playable after I disabled vsync, lowered draw distance and enabled borderless windowed mode. 60fps without drops not possible, but it was still fine.

at night in Sector 0 the Volatiles are all around you, it's not so bad in Shanty town....but in Sector 0 it's a bit easier to escape, you just run like crazy and leap into the water, so it's best to hunt close by...

Or camp a choke point like I did with a mate, killing all night long. Can't post vid as we were swearing rather a lot but there's a link on our forum (just click the image in my sig). :D
