Dying Light - PC next gen zombie open world game?

Coop makes night time a lot safer and more enjoyable, if you are playing alone you aren't getting the most out of this game tbh :)

Sector 0 night time gets pretty easy after a while, once you've got agility in particular leveled up you can run the rooftops pretty safely - just stay off the ground!

Volatiles are the worst kind but once you upgrade to a decent whack-a-mole gadget they go down easy enough but you're timing has to be spot on, lol.

what about UV flares or something to disable them, I always seem to get a gang of them at a time and just end up running off screaming, the screaming bit is me and not the character.

I've got some nice weapons that'll down a volatile in about 2 hits so they're not that hard to deal with unless I get swarmed by 5+ of them plus virals and other infected.

Ziars flaires (always get his name wrong) last about 5 times longer than standard ones and weaken volatiles as well as stopping them from all ganging up on you. The cables and tiled walls between buildings are also excellent choke points for camping. Here's me doing it solo:

At my back is a safe zone, this is the best spot I've found so far for this, great way to get lots of loot and level up all three skills, it's also great fun to do in a small group.

^^^^ That looks pretty good - how much damage are you doing with each hit of your chopper....?

Which safe house is that, not that it should really matter but the location seems pretty good....?

Not too sure that I would want to amass so many points at one time though, after all the hard and painful work that I have put in to get where I have so far.

Just got this yesterday and when trying to start the game i'm getting the error, Dying Light has stopped working. Anyone had this and know of a fix? Tried all the usual, quitting afterburner etc to no avail.

I think I'm doing around 1000 damage per hit, but by the time I realised we could do this I'd maxed out combat and agility anyway.

Some of the weapons I use do tend to be under powered, with them coming up if you need to hit them a few times it's not a problem, the only real danger is falling off and I've a video of when that happened - Benny Hill moment running about until I got back up but as I was playing coop at the time the other chap was still chopping away at those up top.

At that level of damage per hour, and I have read of those who claim much more, I bet that you need the ultra hard mode being introduced as it must be of little challenge at times.

My whole gaming time is spent in Benny Hill mode...! Kinda fun as there is a real risk of me dying and only doing 200 or so Max damage.

Heisenberg.... Your spec is good and I assume it is updated and no mods....? Mods were causing me issues.

Remove overclocks just to test.

Nah, no mods. Fresh install this morning. Will try without OC but would be a bit strange for that to stop the game starting I would think.

Completely agree. But looking at your spec and what you post, and you give an impression of understanding what other obvious things would be needed to be checked for, it is just something to check out.

What do the Dying Light logs show when it is looked at and also the Windows event viewer when the game does not start...?

I've not done much coop with with this, I have maxed out my character completed the main story, all the side quests and I have one mini mission to do which is to get from A to B in a set time with out damage.

Can't see anything obvious in the dying light logs or event viewer. Event viewer has faulting module as Kernelbase.dll. And dying light log just has something about a crash dump being created.

For me this game has been rock solid from the start, even before the patches - in terms of crashes. I did have a problem period but that was down to the Mod Manager I tried out.
Since removing that it is perfect again. The 1.4 patch helped a lot with reducing both GPU memory and system memory.
It runs fine at 1440p and using adaptive sync.

I do find that it seems, especially when rendering the cut scenes, to use up most of the GPU resources (98% or so) and often uses up quite a bit of the four cores of my 3570k that is why I suggested reducing the overclock a little to test that out.

I managed to get it working. unsure what the issue was but I had updated nvidia drivers the other day. Deleted and reinstalled and seems to be fine. Strange since other games seemed to be working fine. The wonderful world of PC gaming I suppose :D Thanks for your help Vimes.
