Oh man.. Two more screenies from the upcoming DLC..

Colouring is a bit off on my PC, but other than that I want this now :)

This is a game I want to get into when I've completed a few others but the beginning puts me off, it's so difficult and the climbing just feels wrong. Obviously this must get much better after you get out of your diapers as it were, because the screenshots of what further into the game looks like look amazing.

When does it get easier? Finished getting first drop, second drop during the night failed but I'm now waiting in the main base in the middle of the night, until I go back to the game.

I'm super excited about this new DLC with a large play area and vehicles, for a DLC it's pretty epic. I'd of thought this would have been developed further and become Dying Light 2 but maybe this is like a taster of things to come in the inevitable sequel - open world zombie bashing / running over.

Dave

Add me on steam mate, tkm52 and Ill run through it with you. Best played coop, although single player is pretty damn good also.

We should organise a night for a few of us to join up, who is up for it?

Not sure if to post this here or in the gpu section but....

I have SLI 980 x2 and was just checking vram usage and was surprised to see 6027mb on each card.
Now obviously these are 4 gig vram cards and so must be caching the rest right?

Screen res is 3440 x 1440p rest of specs in sig.

So am i right in thinking i could use a 6 gb variant and be better covered ? and how much of a benefit would it give me having the extra vram?

Im using afterburner to show the fps, vram usage and gpu usage.

I have some major stutter/stops in this game, when i get attacked by a face bite or green blobs sent at me i get a 2/3 second stop and the game kind of jumps along. Not seen this in other games so far.

any ideas?

i have view distance about half way and everything maxed out, running sli 980s and windows 10 x64

That's a known bug (at least by me :D) with Dying Light.

Once you've launched the game (I do it when I'm in game, but it probably works when at the menu), whatever mode you're in (full screen or windowed), change and OK it, then change back.

I noticed this more (lesser fps, stutter) when I was running it with a 670 than I do with a 780 Ti, and this cured it.

Don't know what rez you're running at, but at 1080P I run @ 60FPS vsync locked (Vsync controlled by NCP, disabled in game), no drops.

Only thing I had to drop was shadow map from very high to high, everything else is maxed.

Worth a try, might help.

TBH wasn't too impressed with the look of the first two DLC releases however the buggy/jumping trailers look awesome. Looking forward to getting my hands on that! :)
