Dying Light

Quite enjoying the game, the accents are all very random which is funny. Night mode is intense when you are being pursued. Also the fact there isnt an abundance of weaponry lying around makes it more fun.

Ace little game, hooked from getting it on Friday to completing it on sunday afternoon, I had some crazy weapons at the end of the game, slicing through enemies like a hot electrified katana through butter!

Not sure if I buy into it, but the 'Global Games' attracted athletes from all over the world to Harran, hence the mix of accents and skin types. Might explain why there are so many free runners in town as well!

Played this alone last night. Have to say.. its so much better with A friend or two, But still fun anyway. I just find I get mobbed a lot more when alone.

I've seen a lot of complaints about the L3 button on the DualShock 4, but mine can't be defective if the L3 button works in other games, surely? It makes zero sense.

I'd appreciate some input on my previous post. It's doing my head in! The only thing that I can think of is that the Super Grip PRO I purchased recently might be obstructing the analog sticks somehow. That still doesn't explain how sprinting in Far Cry 4 works perfectly with the L3 button, however!

I'm pleased to report that the problem has been resolved. I removed the Super Grip Pro accessory, removed all traces of game data, and reset the controller. Sprinting has been restored!

Finally got some time aside to try this last night - rented it from that paramount games company after leaving boomerang (they sent it for release which was good).

anyway - played 3-4 hours or so with a mate and my brother and it was good fun.
didn't spend too much time messing about as I was playing level catchup and just trying to plough through some missions to gain XP.
But now I'm about to hit Lvl 8 so next session will be more about just having fun now I am getting some more skills.

Had a fun moment where I was getting surrounded by about 15 zombies - so shout for those 2 to come and save me. At the exact moment both of them came flying into the pack of zombies from an adjacent roof I threw a Molotov in desperation (not seeing they were here)....the Molotov landed exactly when they did...in the exact same spot. Both just died instantly then I sneaked away unharmed. haha.

Have to be honest, I've skipped every bit of dialogue in the game and all cut-scenes - I have zero interest in anything any character has to say or what the story is. I am VERY thankful that the devs assumed people would do this and so gave us the option to skip everything. If I could not skip it all, it would really detract from the fun flow of the gameplay. So I'm chuffed there and can just have fun bashing zombies heads in with mates.

Should have some time over the weekend to have another blast - looking forward to it.

Had an utter blast last night for about 4hrs with a mate, best game ive played so far this year.

Its still really fun even by yourself to be honest, the map size is brilliant. Gonna be playing this for weeks on end I think.

Found 2 pistols an assault rifle, which ive only used on Rais's men, when theres like 4 surrounding a drop.

well I ventured to the power station during the day and spent ages just bashing the snot out of zombies

there was a handy pool of petrol and the corpses just kept on piling up..drop down smack a few then jump back onto the roof

helped me get a couple of combat levels without much risk, also got me a fortune in cash and items

its just good plain fun..I dont even have to do much, just run around collect some gear, pound some shuffling walkers and laugh as I drop kick them into spikes

Really loving this game, have over 25 hours play time, and only 40 odd percent through.

Think they made the zombies pretty spot on, the cannon fodder ones are just dumb and amble about - easy to overcome, but can easily overwhelm you, really make you feel like you're in some sort of classic zombie flick.

The free running is actually quite enjoyable, and very handy - it's comforting to know that you can easily get yourself some high ground to take a breather :-D The gun play feels quite clumsy, but we'll implemented - I like how it's a double edged sword; insomuch as it can draw unwanted attention easily.

This is my game of the moment for now, hope the season pass stuff adds many more hours of enjoyment!

Started playing this yesterday, and enjoyed it for quite a few hours. Problem being, i'm guessing at a certain level zombies start grabbing you more, as they seem to wade through my attacks and keep grappling me, which is pretty annoying.

Is there a skill that can somehow counter this? Didn't seem to happen in the first 5/6 hours of gameplay, now going up against 3/4 you seem to get grappled every time.

Two things help, kick will stop them most of the time but the dodge skill is best. If your going at 3 or 4 of them it's hard to keep them at bay tho! Avoid big groups or try to manouver them so they come at you single file

there are skills that reduce the grapple time then a later one to get an instant release

Thanks chaps. I think the main problem was bull rushing into them, i've been keeping my distance a lot more and can recognise when one is going to lurch and when they do just back away, seems to be doing the job. :)

The filthy boomers are causing me grief now, seem to sneak up on you from behind and then BOOM instadeath. Or worse, when you run into a room, turn around and there's one in a doorway :(

Great game though.

the boomers are the bane of my life in the weapon challenges as they hide in the crowd then kill all the zombies you want to kill!!!

Picked this up again last night in co-op and had a right good laugh. Did a few missions, picked up the Korek Machete blueprint and Assault rifle before starting a full blow assault on the transformer station. We killed so many zombies the area was technically clear... :D

I went from ~ $4K to ~$17k and increased my agility and power levels twice.

Flipped the switch at night to complete the mission and then decided to go toe to toe with more than one volatile. After a couple of heart in mouth moments (a volatile jumping directly in front of me as I ran away...) we both got the "mouth wide open" trophy. The machete made light work of them.

The game really brings back fond memories of Dead Island whilst offering so much more.
