hi all,

bought a 60gb ocz agility ssd about 3 months ago from ocuk and its gradually and consistently deteriorated in ssd life but now to the point that im noticing it performance wise in day to day use, also my windows experience score has dropped from 7.4 to 7.1 for storage.

is there any more tests i can do to confirm this for myself? i reinstalled ssd life hoping it would reset but it hasnt, still says 77% life.

Use HDDScan to test it for erros.

It might be an OS issue.

I thought that one of the advantages of an SSD was that they did not decrease in performance over time, maybe I am wrong.

Checked if TRIM is enabled? Open command prompt (run as administrator)

then type in

fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify

If you get
DisableDeleteNotify = 1 then TRIM is disabled.
DisableDeleteNotify = 0 then TRIM is enabled.

that hddscan doesnt do anything for me? i extracted the.exe, double clicked it but nothing comes up? yet it shows in task manager?

according to that TRIM is enabled, thanks.

does this mean anything?

The speeds shown are about right for an Agility so the only reason I can think of is the OS.

Did you start the error scan? No results are displayed.

What does it say on the 'Health' tab?

oops my bad. so i take it from these results the ssd is fine? what do you mean by the OS being at fault? could i need a fresh install? anyway of double checking that?

The SSD is in good condition so I don't think it is the drive itself.

You could try a virus scan, you might have some malware clogging it up.

How much free space do you have on the drive?

oh how odd, 26.6gb free of 59.5gb, thats not right ive not used that much im sure it was around 40+gb free a month ago..

will do, ive got mse, ad aware and malware bytes, can i run all 3 at the same time or do i do it one at a time?

thanks

I was under the impression SSD last forever. Hence the price and no moving parts.

Am I wrong to assume that then?

SSD's are limited to a certain number of read/write passes. So if you write, read and delete from the SSD regularly then it will have a shorter life span than someone who only uses it occasionally, unlike a traditional HDD that is constantly spinning.

my scans are coming back clean, one thing iv noticed, my rst isnt running? how do i turn it back on? could this be the problem?
