E.A. have bent me over for the last time!!

I don't understand where this ' Bugfield ' term has come from..all games have problems / require patches from time to time and BF2 was no worse than anything else.

So what other bugs did it have ? You make out it was infested. All the mods done by people moaning about bugs had, guess what...bugs.

I would say that server crashes every other map was bad enough, wouldn't you? I stopped playing Bugfield 2 because of this. Im not willing to accept that a game that cost me £30 was released with major bugs and glitches rendering it unplayable. Im not aware of any other bugs as I cant remember what they were initially & stopped playing after constant server crashing.

What we don't know is whether EA handled QA (sometimes publishers do this) and whether or not EA put pressure on Crytek to cut corners to finish the game.

Patch #1 - Current Status

Thus we fully concentrated on the issues to get them addressed and resolved. So far the progress on the patch is quite satisfying since everything seems to be working as intended. Currently the patch is being reviewed by Crytek's and EA's QA departments and we expect to get the final feedback submitted in the first week of January.

By the sounds of it E.A. do have an input into QA and who knows how much more?

so angry.......

After Bugfield 2 I vowed to God himself never, ever, ever to buy an E.A. product ever ever again.

Allas I bought Crysis and indeed it is in crisis.

Im playing the level where I have to rescue the hostage from a school in the middle of a jungle and then booooom it crashes to desktop!!!

Im un-installing this piece of crap........

Rant over. Back to my wii at least that never crashes, stuff EA.......

its your own fault for buying Crysis and being swept along by the media and hype circus

regarding Battlefield 2, collectively with many friends we've enjoyed thousands of hassle free hours(and still do) playing it most nights , so i would suggest before throwing your toys around the room you check your PC, defrag it often, clean out the registry and generally maintain it better as these things, 9/10 generally stop the problems most gamers have.

really i only played bf2 a few times on-line, with random degrees of patchinesses never had it crash

Also i really hate people who give things retarded names then insist on repeating them when ever they say it, bugfeild, microshatf, m$ etc.

Meh, one crash wouldn't be enough to stop me from playing a game. Especially if its relatively good like Crysis.

You vow to God himself to never buy an EA game & then go out & do just that!

Bugfield 2 is soo poor, I still play it to this day.....

Crysis is largely regarded as one of the best current games, piece of crap is hardly apt.

Go back to your kids toy. :p Console fanboy or what?

well to add my two penth worth to the thread :D i been playing it for an hour or so and im at the hostage in the school bit now and i havent got any problems with it as of yet (one thing i learnt is to leave your comments open incase something goes wrong :) )

It's the inept EA Support team who are the absolute cretins! After many months of contact because my stats weren't increasing in BF2 and as such I'm still stuck at PFC with no unlocks, they actually told me "we can't figure it out, so **** off it's out of our hands now"!

But did they rectify it? Im pretty sure they rectified it pretty sharpish.

No, they didn't fix it. There is still an issue, not one that is admitted to by EA it seems, game servers will still lock up occaisionally when trying to report. So, they made it better but I wouldnt say it was fixed. It was a very similar story with 2142. It took us 2 years of swapping and harassing hosts to realise that it really is an error on EA's side and dump the games completely. Seems that with these games they just cant get the stats reporting on the server side right. I remember someone at Dice letting slip that they weren't impressed by the QA at EA making them look like *****, but it certainly wasn't an official statement, since by then EA had acquired Dice, and I can't find any mention of it now.
I also vowed never to buy EA again after BF2/2142 and I won't, their QA is tripe.

Actually, as I recall, most of the more memorably EA patch ****-ups appear to have been based server side, maybe they should stick to console titles ? :P

Im hardly a console fanboy I play pc and wii games. Im hardly a kid either. I get angry when I feel the product should work, and not be crashing a lot. You wouldn't buy a car and have it breakdown every 500 miles. You would be up the dealer right away getting it sorted. You wouldn't accept it breaks down occasionally and live with it.

I think that software that I buy shouldn't crash & should work 100% of the time.

Maybe I have a different outlook on it all. You seem to accept that your buying a sub-standard product and thats fine.

I'm saying its sub-standard because they are patching it, meaning it was not correct on release. So, how can it pass QA? In my line of work if my projects are not upto scratch on QA I have to pull my finger out of my bum and get it sorted before the deadline.

The above applies to all software though, so should we really accept it at all given that we pay for it? (unless its open source).

I have calmed down now:p I was just so looking forward to playing Crysis. I been waiting since release while you lot were all posting on the forums about it :)

No issues with Crysis here either apart from fps. (I was running high/very high settings in1920x1200, it ran better than I expected!)

I don't think you can be hard on Crysis or BF2 for having bugs. Yes they should have been ironed out before being released. But what games nowadays have been released bug free :/

So if you buy a fancy sports car would you expect it to survive an off road 4x4 track?

Software has to run on thousands of different hardware configs with people running random drivers for all sorts of different carp and other random pieces of junk running at the same time.

expecting anything to work 100% of the time is just silly, windows never crashed for you, any free ware stuff crash?

just have to accept and avoid it, for example i know using divx web play in ff in one window on main monitor then putting the video on full screen or windowed on the second will crash ff if i don't drag it back first.

I'm not going to write and complain or stop using it just submit a bug report and then deal with it. ( god i love restore session button)

I accept what your saying but Firefox and dixv codec are freeware, so as we have not paid we couldn't argue. Submitting a bug report is the only thing we can do.

Thats abit silly I would buy a sports car to drive at 70 mph on a motorway:p and for track days. Heard of fit for purpose?

Why is that silly when you have paid good money for it to work as described? Windows is the same, it buggers up I'm not disputing that & again should be better considering we have to pay. I have opensuse 10.3 and Ubuntu 7.10 and they have never crashed for me.

Many sports cars are unable to complete a season of trackdays without some sort of mechanical failiure - even brand new ones - so his analogy was spot on. Nothing in life is totally problem free.
