I recently purchased a TeraStor 5 Bay eSata DAS off Radial, this came with a 2 e-sata port pci-e SLI 3132 SoftRaid 5 controller.
I am having a problem with getting it working on my server (please note I have confirmed the unit works in two other machines, one a work server and one my HTPC (sig)).
The server already has a 4 port (2 sata, 2 e-sata) PCI-e SIL 3132 SoftRaid 5 card and a 4 port (4 sata) PCI SIL 3114 SoftRaid 5 card in it, and these work perfectly fine for the internal SATA drives that are connected to it.
The problem I have is that when I connect the TeraStor to the esata ports it doesnt show any connectivity and I have tried it in all 4 of the esata ports I would have available.
I am thinking the issue is that the motherboard in my server is not AHCI capable (Asus P5G41-M) as it uses an ICH7 chipset whereas both the other machines I tried it in are AHCI capable.
Does anybody have any ideas before I start looking into replacing the motherboard (which may also have to involve a CPU and RAM upgrade as well).
Cheers
Pepp
