E2180. How long will it last for gaming?

That's excellent at such low volts, looks like u found a good one, i am only at 3.2 @ 1.575v on my e2160. I suggest u try getting up to 3.6 upping the vcore (depending on your cooling of course).

The cooler i am using is only a cheapo Nexus all copper version of the Intel cooler but with a bigger fan. Still, temps at the moment are 58 degrees on both cores after 8.5 hours of Prime small fft's. His cooler is a Freezer 7 Pro though so should be better. The problem i have at the moment is the ram. My spare set is only Corsair XMS 5400 (675mhz). I might swap it for the Geil 6400 kit in my second pc tomorrow to see how far it will go. The best bit is that i have'nt had to touch any other settings in the bios apart from the dram frequency and Vcore. Everything else is at stock.

I'd love an E2180 that will do 3.2Ghz 1.28V for £35 :(

Built one for my friend and his did 3.3Ghz 1.425V so yours is very good, as said you'd probably be able to push it close to 3.6V with enough volt under a decent cooler.

Nice bargain there.

your not gonna notice the diff from a e2160 or e6600 at same clock in FPS. your saying your eyes can detect 1-3fps difference lol. only in one situation is there a diff, when the game is gpu limited, then the difference seems to kick in. then again ill have a better gfx card than you buck for buck wont I?

Got it to 3.6Ghz. Rock solid. Been running Prime all day and has'nt failed yet. Volts are up to 1.425v (bios, cpu-z says 1.375v) now though and temps are 70 on both cores. I am not going to keep it going much longer as i am not happy with the temps. Wish i had a decent air cooler to see if it will go any further. Pretty impressive cpu actually. Not bad for £35. :D:D:D

If it's M0 stepping then temps r fine (max is 73ºC), it wont get as high in gaming as it does in prime or orthos. looks like u got a golden chip u lucky bugger!

It's been very warm up here today (makes a change) so i tried something different. Set it to 3Ghz (10x300) and tried for the lowest volts i could get stable at. So far i am at 1.2v @3Ghz and it's been priming small fft's now for just over 6 hours. I am really pleased with that. Temps are 52 degrees on both cores, but like i said, it's warmer today.
