MS have a new method to stop all these pesky ports to PC
Its called XBox One Cloud Computing. Dead Rising 3 for instance uses the XB1 Cloud to generate & manage background level data streaming as well as game saves & other player & game world data. Quantum Break (new Remedy XB1 exclusive game which looks horrible) uses the same tech. This is the perfect DRM as well because the XB1 exclusive games use it & are built around this massive Cloud network of 300,000 servers MS say it will have when running at full capacity.
Its highly unlikely any XB1 exclusives arrive on another platform (even Win8) when MS are co-publishing all the games themselves alongside the publisher to share the risk on XB1 & gain full control.
Even if MS said yes port to PC the devs would have a huge recoding job to perform & many of these games could not work the same as there is no PC Cloud equivalent to draw on with the same computational power!
PC will still get some DX9 level games next gen with DX11 features like it does now but few games will look much different as not many companies will spend the high budgets to make a PC specific hardware heavy game as the highend PC market is tiny.
I agree but MS appear to be doing this to seize market share not enrich gaming it will work to some extent if there are any must own XB1 exclusives you simply must buy their crappy over price under specced console"Cloud computing" aka a huge waste of time and money and a whole load of lies.
(When talking about games)

Anything is possible but I think MS will be using their 300,000 servers to manage piracy & prevent ports to other platforms then as a sideline generate a little of the actual game world content. A 50GB Bluray could contain a massive game world already so its probably low level computational stuff & user management then as a byproduct perfect DRM.On an unrelated idea, imagine it could go a step beyound just the 'cloud' but more in to the relams of the 'grid' ie, all online xbox's create their own distributed grid for processing data and graphics!

).But also explains why MS have been so apathetic towards PC gamers for years they must have known several years ago about this massive Cloud based array now they can control & prevent PC ports which to them assumes you & I will need to buy this under specced poxy little midget PC but I think most PC gamers will shun it & just see what happens with the PS4 ports & DX11 only PC exclusives (you can count them on 1 hand right now methinks).
It annoys me that such a fuss is kicked up over sony allowing us to trade use sell games in any way we see fit, yet everyone just sheeps up when it comes to pc steam etc.I bet 90% of these games that are said to be on pc are out 1 year later on pc or a pc version totally scrapped.
Its not more of the same this time around though that is what is taking PC gamers time to understand as its not exactly clear! To be honest, MS have created XBox exclusives for all their consoles. They don't need the cloud to do that, and it's no surprise that there is more of the same this time around.

I agree but MS upper management would have to actually care about PC gamingJust, hypothetically, why couldnt a Windows 8 PC (or any other device for that matter) play a game hosted in the XB1 cloud? surely thats the point of cloud enabled services, to access any program/data anywhere?
What would stop MS creating an XBOX app or client that works in much the same way as the dashboard on an xbox? They already have started to with the Metro games. Then in theory they can release games to PC with no porting required, which means less expensive to release on PC, which means quicker turn arounds and less bugs - good thing?
I get they want a walled-garden, so to speak, but since Windows and XBOX share similar ground, it wouldnt be a massive stretch of the imagination that they could potentially start offering cloud-based XBOX games to Windows PC's?
they are some of the most arrogant executives in business. The Division does look really good:
The Division looks incredible!

Hell yes, it's the reason I'm buying a PS4.![]()
Saw this this morning.
Looks amazing.
