E3 2014

hhmm, looks like MS trumped Sony this time round. I was holding out for Project Beast and Last Guardian, but ended up with loads of multiplatofrm stuff I'll be getting on the PC and Uncharted, which, to be fair, does look sweet. The XB1 had the exclusives, though, and the mega Halo collection will give me and friends years of playtime on it's own!

What happened to Platinum btw?! - I thought Nintendo had them tied up.

Indeed felt Microsoft took that comfortably, whilst the greatest place for gamers spent a lot of time talking about TV, also vita is dead to them :(

Still, ps4 should be worth it for the from software game alone

ah we've reached the 'in denial' portion of E3.

Got to admit, I'm struggling to believe that's what we're going to to be seeing during gameplay. I'm wondering whether ND have developed some sort of adaptive cut-scene photo mode. Perfectly within their rights to call it in-engine as they are doing, but they're not saying this is gameplay and that's the bit we spend a lot of time looking at.

Precisely.

A shame we couldn't see more Driveclub footage but was very impressed by Sonys conference. GTA V, Destiny, Uncharted and one or two more titles will be on preorder for me :)

I think in terms of stuff announced MS edged it for me but in terms of how good their conferences were I'd give MS an A and Sony a C (EA C, Ubi B) Sony just put so much filler, old guys blabbering on about numbers and TV shows and how much they want someone to buy a Vita. Oh yeah I'd forgotten about that, where the hell was Drive Club?!?

See post above, or go here - http://n4g.com/news/1526852/corrinne-yu-confirms-that-uncharted-4-was-running-in-game-on-ps4

Developers are saying this is not pre-rendered. That it is in engine game footage running on PS4.

Lot's of people who have seen the game running have said the game was stunning, and this would be worthy of calling it that. Considering what they graphically / stylistically achieved on PS3 with Uncharted and Last of Us. I don't have a hard time thinking Naughty Dog could achieve this on PS4. They have had the time, and full access to all of the PS4's capability.

Rendering that scene on the PS4 doesn't mean what you're implying.

That will be a show piece, a very small fragment (I mean there's nothing there really) being rendered. People say Last Of Us was stunning (Yes, it was, unless you get close)

Who has seen it running?
Given that Josh Scherr tweeted this:

MT @consperic [the U4 trailer was] a huge team effort. Characters, rendering, fx, background, programming, editorial, all insanely talented.

Means it was a typical E3 trailer where it was built just for that, with little thought into actually how it will look once they start to add AI, physics etc which will take considerable resources from the PS4.

Again ND are good, but their not wizards.

Yeah but what needs to be considered is what they achieved with Last of Us, on essentially what is a GPU from about 8 years prior, and 256mb of ram (512).

Everyone said the Uncharted 4 was stunning, if that is indeed using the engine and in game. It justifies what people have been saying.

It's not hard to believe they could achieve this quality (Uncharted 4) that with a circa HD 7870 / 8 CPU cores and 8GB's of DDR5, and no OS overhead. Direct to the metal coding.

Pessimism and negativity is always the easier option though :p

Guess we need to wait for E3 2015 to find out..

If it looked like that in game, they'd have showed some gameplay.
It's like when you see Unreal Engine renderings, nothing ever looks like that. This is the same thing, what can be done rendered in the engine is entirely different to you'll be able to achieve running an actual game.

Uncharted 4 will look very good, but it's not going to look like that.

Pessimisn and negativity is easier, but it usually turns out closer to the truth than constant optimism and hyperbole.

Or until we boot the game on our ps4s you mean

Haha, yeah let's hope this isn't another Watch Dogs. That is the biggest disappointment in terms of E3 Reveal > Actual release ever imho.

Sadly the game is still selling like hot cakes. It has worse physics and collision detection than the much much older GTA 4, let alone GTA 5.

I don't think Naughty Dog will disappoint though. They have been stellar so far. I have faith that this will look and play amazing.

Again who is everyone? Why do you keep saying this without backing it up, no journalist has seen anything other than the trailer.

Its not the easier option, but when you seem to think theres this massive section of gameplay out there that people are wowing over with zero evidence to back it up then it kinds of gets a little fanboyish, and hard to have a discussion when your not willing to consider the real facts.

Not necessarily, they are drip feeding us Uncharted. Gameplay will likely come at E3 2015, launch later in that year.

I've got faith in Naughty Dog, this game will be stunning, but like I said earlier it's easier to just be Pessimistic and negative. Especially on forums lol.

Re-releases. Re-releases everywhere.

Some nice 'new' stuff shown off but I'm growing concerned by how many fairly recent last-gen games are being spruced up and then sold to us at full price again. When we're near the end of this gen I'm not even going to bother buying any big games because chances are they'll end up on the next-generation, if this is anything to go by. Ultimately, they're going to end up hurting their pre-order and new-release sales figures because people are going to be waiting for the better version of the game to come out.

What were sonys big exclusives other than bloodborne /uncharted/last of us? Was half asleep watching it bar bloodborne and repeat of MGS trailer
