Thinking back I reset the ECU a few days before the PS RR on the 330ci and it was also on a splash of octane booster. I did the same when I run it at Donington too.
B&W have a good reputation (but work's filtering their website right now) and a friend knows the owner, and Evolve Automotive have a good reputation too.
I had a good read on E60.net and it's one of those two that I'd go to (and I'll get Dad to do his dirty dieseasel soon). Main thing really is to avoid someone that just turns up to your drive and remaps it there and then. It's far better to go to guys like Evolve and have them check the ECU for errors, run it on the rollers, then remap it and tweak the map to suit your engine and run it on the rollers again - especially on a higher mileage engine.
