E5300 overclocking?

Ah so if that is with the 230 fsb, the overclock settings are not sticking for sure then, most probably a bios update would fix that, but thats where someone with more knowledge of that mobo will be able to help more.

Damn there is 4 revisions of that mobo too, so that will be a headache when/if u need to update the bios lol.

You don't need to know anyone, heck i don't even know anyone here, get on with a few people but don't know them lol.

So it will just be a matter, of leaving the comp running stock for now, until someone that knows your mobo better posts, im sure someone will, just waiting will be a pain, trust me i know iv been there lol.

Haha yeh it is, but sometimes we have too.

By all means keep testing and trying things, but always remember you can easily turn it back to stock settings very easily, if things don't work.

Ermm most of the mobo's iv had, its done it 3 times, then either rebooted and failed the overclock, or passed the post stage and failed at loading windows, or loaded windows fine.

I would say 3 times in general, but it can be different amounts for different manufactures, its been 3 times for my MSI and Asus boards in the past.

mine did it about 10 times and i noticed on the screen before pressing delete to go to bios (the one the shows it checking everything) there were green streaks so i stopped it. Should i carry on or leave it?

Personally id say leave it for now, until we can get more info from someone that knows or has at least used the same motherboard, im sure some have on here, its just a matter of waiting for people to spot the thread really.

I just know iv missed something so obvious but for the life of me i can't think what, so waiting time for us both lol.

don't feel down hearted though, Overclocking is never a simple and quick thing, even for those of us that have been doing it for abit.

You could always post something asking is the overclock not sticking a known bug, and if so what fix is needed.

you would have to be able to tell them the revision of the motherboard though, should be able to find this on the lower right corner of the mobo, or in the mobo info in cpu-z.

But beaware that section is'nt as lively as the overclocking section lol, but it can't hurt to ask.
