I recently purchased a e6600, as far as performance goes the boost is noticeable however the CPU is running much hotter then previous chip a D930, now obviously these are 2 different chips i cant expect them to be exactly the same but i consider 45c idle 55 game load 65 orthos load to be a bit high considering the last chip was sitting pretty at 30-50 on a stock cooler this one is under a AF7 again brand new.

Does anyone have any suggestions what i can do here, no other temps seem to be out of the ordinary other CPU, Case 25-30 depending on room temp, gpu 35/55.

My 4300 is at 1.4 vcore 3.2 ghz idles at 30c full load 50-55c
maybe try the spread method with arctic silver ? thats what i did for my tuniq tower never tried the line method ever.

Might try some arctic silver see if it helps, just about the only thing i haven't tried so far using the stuff that came with the AF7 atm.

34 idle 43 load

My E6700 runs at 33 Idle, and 43 under load. My case is an Antec p180B and the stock cooler on the CPU. It's not clocked at all. I would have thought the e6600 should be around the same sort of temps, under load pushing 50 or so.

Having said that, anything under 60 is just fine for these CPUs. I just prefer cooler if it can.

My P4 2.66 Northwood runs 36 idle and 49 under heavy load. But that is overclocked to 3.00Ghz

Hi, between 25-30c and then around 40c under load with TAT. Using a Turiq Tower, vcore is stable at 1.18 even though I've OC the CPU to 3ghz...

How much have you oced your cpu? I have got it running at 25-27 idle, clocked @ 3.24, but I got a zamlan 9700 on it, so thats probably why. Mobo is P5n32- 680i SLI.

I'm sorry but I don't beleive half these temps on here, for starters your cpu even on the best air cooling will be around 10c above ambeint room temperature so unless some of you have your pc's in a cold room then your motherboard is not reading the temps accurately which is usually the case tbh, I've probed a few cpu's in the past only to find the actual temp of the was 8/10 degree's higher than the motherboard reported so I know this is nothing new.

10c above ambient on air is optimistic :) unless you are only talking idle temps?

and TAT temps are probed from the die itself so pretty accurate, motherboard temps are of course usually wrong.

Well I am checking temos using, core temp, Everest and asus probe 2 . they all report more or less the same temps. +- 1-2 degree difference. And my box is in a room with a heater about 7 feet away from it. I forgot to mention i also have a thermaltake amour aluminium case, with a massive fan on the side.

what are the rest of your voltages for a 3.7 clock.

If they are matching whatever Asus Probe 2 tells you then they are wrong. Asus Probe 2 measures CPU temps from the thermal sensor underneath the CPU socket. They are typically 10 - 14C lower than the on die temp measured by TAT.

I know this because I ran Asus Probe 2 until it decided to stop working, got TAT and found that Asus Probe was reading my temps 11C lower than what they actually were.

You don't believe, this is in a room temp of 23c

and after about 10mins of load

probe 2 could be wrong, but Everest and core temp wrong as well dunoo about that.

Hi, well I'm sorry you think that the pictures I have posted are ssome kinda setup. It is the truth, this CPU is doing great things running at a vcore of just 1.18. It is solid, stable and is running those temps. If you don't believe me then there is not much else I can do unless you can suggest some other means by which I can convince you. Here is another screen dump taken after the PC has been running for around four hours, the ambient temp of the room is 24c, this time using everest. Think about it, why would I bother to concoct a story?

If you don't mind invalidating your warranty, you could try lapping it?

I mates

yes with vcore at 1.18v is possible to obtain temps in order of 4/5ºC above the room temp

with a great cpu air cooler like TT120 ,and a good ventilated case ( with the inside cables well tied etc.) this is not a big deal
but you need this combination-great cooler and good ventilated case
I have done that before, with same results

right now ,with a good overclock 450x8= 3600mhz and Vcore at 1.46/1.47V I get cpu temps near 35ºC ,when idling (surfing the net)
