E8400-E8500-E8600 OFICIAL O/C THREAD!

Hello!
Seems many people ask to Help with E8400/E8500!

This threaded is opened to See who has which CPU speed, Bios Details, etc.

C0- stepping
At the moment i am on 4GHZ, FSB1700!
Volt : 1.35
max temp:58C, STOCK COOLER (about 4 hours of game play:-D)

3.8GHZ can be reached very easy, with almost all setting on Auto 24/7 stable!
4GHZ, started to play with BIOS, took me a bit of time, yesterday had Error screen (blue), which reported that it is caused by CPU!i have encreased Volt to 1.3620, no issues so far!100% stable system!
but can not see much difference!

so, how far you pushed your E8... CPU?which steppings you have?
if you can... Write BIOS settings which can help other people to get Stable system with O/C!

Well here is mine, not that great. Need to get lower voltages, it's at 1.325V (picture is like 5 days out of date, that voltage was way high) at the moment. Have a scythe katana 2, hopefully soon a core contact freezer :).

Raise bus speed to 425, as C0 is older steping, some people say it is hard to O/C it if we talk about +4Ghz .

i am afraid to go over 1.36 Cpu Volt for 24/7

GURUSAN i c you have nice clocking!
want to push mine as far as it can go!

is your stable?
which cooling u've got?
is speed between 4 and 4.6ghz differs a lot?

4.8Ghz ... not sure with my stepping C0, E0 i sbetter, but do not know how far it should go!
saw on youtube 4.8ghz!

GTA V i have heard can't run on P4, so it needs Dual core!

Yeah it's stable, I'm under watercooling but this particular chip seems to run very cool and I'm not using a lot of voltage (1.42V load) so I think it could be cooled under air at these clocks fine.

And nope, the difference between 4 and 4.6ghz is not really noticeable at all except for in benchmarks :) I just hate wasted potential....for example I never understand people who buy E8600s and then clock them to 4ghz at 1.18V or something. I mean WTF is the point in that?

so i guees there is no point if i won't c difference in performance to go to 4.5ghz?

personally me, thinking that i should drop to 3.8ghz as no difference at all with 4Ghz!

3.8ghz more stable...

with my 3.8Ghz (e8500,CO) no problem, almost everything on AUTO!

but 4ghz still not stable after couple of days, raised CPU Volt to 1.4V in bios (so far so good) , in CPU-Z showing 1.37....-1.38V.

If none of you guys see difference in those high oc's, just get a Q6600 and overclock it to 3825MHz (on air) and you will see a difference then. For example with games like GTA 4 use more than 2 cores. I think there is going to be lots of new games coming out that will be using more than 2 cores soon. Alan Wake I heard will be, looking forward to that :)

Also you benefit a lot when you decide to transcode something or decode and stuff :)

hi, i See difference between 3.1ghz and 3.8ghz... 3.8ghz and 4ghz only in benchmark, but 200mhz is not much!

i would agree that by the time we need Really good QUADS i would go for i7 !

Got my 8500C0 at 4.2 running a 440FSB with 1.45v... Not sure whats holding me back at the moment, but any higher becomes unstable... Motherboard definately has the ability to go faster, need some more tweaking...

Any way to dump my bios settings so I can post them?

mine C0 the same, becomes unstable, but still did not play with all BIOS, no time for now, but even to 4.1ghz almost all menu on AUTO, so this is good, will do more tests when i have i time!

CHECK GURUSAN'S BIOS SETTING, might help you!

any suggestions to improve?

I tried to play with bios, voltages/references .... but it was not stable!

how far should i go on stock cooler?

Hi...
i checked when Windows have loaded was: 37C, max i saw was 60C, but it is after long game play!

i will try to put this settings a bit later!

i set Ram to 2.1 and i think NB...
