EA Dumps DRM for next Sims game

even if they went back to the old days of code wheels or asking for words from the manual they are never going to ba able to totally stop piracy.

Serial codes are no more effective than any other form.

PGA Tour used to drive me insane, I could never find the book which you had to use to find the code to use to play the game!!!

I'm looking forward to the new Sims game :D

However, I was willing to not buy it if EA put another silly "anti piracy" DRM on it.

This new is good news, finally EA might be getting the message that their DRM wasn't working, I see to remember them making a lot of fuss about the amazing DRM Spore had, and Spore was also one of the most pirated games ;)

Nothing ever stops piracy, but keys are generally linked to online accounts these days and that at least helps to limit pirates from being able to play multiplayer. I'm guessing you like DRM? Or am I wrong there?

Wrong, serial codes do nothing to stop pirates playing multiplayer other than to stop them playing on official servers. There a masses of pirate servers out there for pirated games, it's just a case of knowing where to look.

Zool code wheel anyone?

I still have one :) it's around here somewhere :D

Actually, it was Zool 2:
