EA is getting rid of online passes!

I thought perhaps EA might think that an online pass might be an obstruction to somebody buying a season pass for DLC...

Well, that shut me up. Very disappointed to see second-hand games will be limited. I believe it's still up to the publisher but I cannot see EA not using it. Sony took out a patent for similar technology, doesn't seem to be much reason for them not to use it now.

Yes, they are "dropping" the online pass system, HOWEVER, it is now well known that both the PS4 and the next XBox have DRM "built in" should a publisher/developer require it. E.A will never utilise such systems, would they?

So, are E.A doing the "right thing" or is this what they thought to be a clever PR tactic of filling the room with smoke, then when it clears, everyone realises they have stole the family silver?
