Just brought battlefield hardline premium and have been told by origin advisor that I have to buy the standard edition WTF

Premium is just a pre purchase of all future DLC and the odd perk, it's not the base game and neither does it anywhere suggest that it is.

You melon :D

Don't blame the OP. The Origin system shouldn't allow such a thing to happen.

The Steam way:

Yeah all i read was hardline premium and though upgraded version of standard. All I could get out of the the advisor is 15% off the £49.90 orgin price.

So is hardline worth the £27.99 cdkeys are asking. Need to justify £54 for a game, this will be the most expensive game I have brought on pc

I just logged into Origin to have a look myself and it's not obvious at all. That stinks.
There was some disclaimer at the very bottom of the page, once you've clicked a few times, but who reads the bottom of the page when you think you've got a bargain?

He didn't necessarily buy it from Origin.

I BOUGHT it from cd keys after looking it up on origin and yes I missed the disclaimer at the top of the screen

Exactly my point. it's like filling up with premium fuel and then told that premium is just additives and the normal fuel is still needed.

Though if I had brought ultimate then the base game is included

Pretty sure you can buy just pure additive for your fuel. It was a thing back in the day when cars needed leaded fuel and they started phasing it out.

You cant run the car on pure lead additive. Yea DLC sucks its true, I much prefer the valve or csgo system where its pretty much optional and nobody is forced to spend money to keep playing.
Or in Arma 3 you can play add ons but you only get the very base nasty looking graphics version, the gameplay and missions are there for anyone
