EA taking the urine?

I just logged into Origin to have a look myself and it's not obvious at all. That stinks.
There was some disclaimer at the very bottom of the page, once you've clicked a few times, but who reads the bottom of the page when you think you've got a bargain?

Not obvious? It's right there in big letters at the top of the advert.

Exactly my point. it's like filling up with premium fuel and then told that premium is just additives and the normal fuel is still needed.

Though if I had brought ultimate then the base game is included

It's more like buying "fuel additive", ignoring the banner that says"fuel not included" then complaining you need the fuel to use it.

No where else do you see these restrictions. I don't need to prove I have a oven to buy a lasagna.

lol my friend did that back when bf3 came out. Like someone else said just wait another year and hardline will be free on some bundle online :D

EA has released Premium (just the DLCs) and Premium Editions (Base game + DLCs) of the Battlefield games. This time there seems to be an Ultimate Edition(Base game + all DLC) for a very decent £99.89.

Lets not forget 20 years ago games were £40-45. With increased costs of production and adjusting for inflation video games should be priced a lot higher. Yet people still whine about a new game costing £40 when they are costing hundreds of millions to develop and maintain.

no it's the use of the words standard and premium. If it was more like buying fuel additive it wouldn't be labeled as premium fuel would it?

what utter rubbish.

20 years ago the size of the market was a fraction of the billion dollar industry it is today.

with volume comes lower prices

video games now out perform Hollywood movies, maybe Hollywood should start charging £50 for a movie?
2009
Last year will go down in history as the point at which the UK videogames industry pulled decisively away from cinema, recorded music and DVD sales to become the country's most valuable purchased entertainment market, with combined software and hardware sales topping the £4bn mark for the first time: more than DVD and music sales combined, and more than four times cinema box office takings.

You shouldnt be upset with EA because you didn't buy it from them and if you had then don't they offer you some mind of money back guarantee ?

Everyone missing the point?
I'm not upset with EA, yes I missed two warnings.

Calling A product standard and then calling another product premium kinda says that it is the standard product but with a few extras and then having an ultimate edition would have even more extras. Taking the urine

That's a buttload of money. As others have said, keep an eye out for Hardline on offer.

If I didn't know about the game I too would have assumed it was the full release, assuming I didn't see the warning banner.
